Exactly what we wanted
This was an excellent cabin getaway. We loved the deck and hot tub, the cabin was a good size for us, and the area is pretty. We saved a lot of money bringing food with us and just cooking at the cabin instead of going out to eat all the time. They had it equipped with everything we needed. The air conditioning and heating system works fast and evenly heated the cabin quickly, which was nice for going in and out to the hot tub when it was 40 degrees outside. The one thing I have to mention, as others have, the road going up to the cabin is really steep and if you don't have a 4WD or AWD vehicle, you're going to have a tough time getting up and down from the cabin to the main road. I have a 4WD truck, and it wouldn't climb up the road in 2WD. So, I highly recommend this cabin, but be sure you have the means to get up to it when you book it.

Not very pleased with my stay.
The VRBO Website did not tell how steep the driveway was to get to the cabin. Property manager sent a map to the cabin and advised that if it rained or snowed I might want a 4 wheel drive vehicle. After the large amount I already paid and with a substantial refundable fee I could not rent a truck for the trip. I thought I would be ok because it had not rained or snowed, I was wrong. The road was dirt and rocks and very steep, my car started sliding backwards so we had to park a good ways from the cabin and carry all our supplies up. two other cabins guests did the same thing. My three sons helped a man in a small suv push his through the dirt so he could at least park across from his cabin. after two nights the road was fixed and we were able to get the car to our driveway. my older son came the second day in his jeep and was fine driving. I would have thought with paying a fare amount for each day in cleaning fees would mean the cabin would be clean, it was not, I cleaned long black hair out of one shower, picked used table napkins and empty water bottle off the bedroom floor. plenty of cobwebs in the cabin. The bedspread in the bedroom has dark spots on it as well as the couch in the tv room, it was a light color but very dirty and stained. The area that was very nice was the outdoor space and hot tub. It was nice to spend time away with my family but for the large price I would expect better. my two sons went fishing early on the day we left, checkout time is 11:00, the cleaning lady and her son came and parked in our driveway a little over 30 minutes early so when my sons came back up the road and discovered someone in the way he stopped and this caused the car to start to slide backwards causing damage to the car bumper. With the cleaning lady and son waiting on us to leave we felt rushed and was out a few minutes before 11. I text the manager to make sure I had the checkout time right and he said yes it is 11:00 but when I stated that the cleaning lady came about 30 minutes early so we felt rushed he no longer responded to me, not very professional.

For the most part my guests and I loved everything about the cabin, it was really nice and I'd say unique. However, the BBQ grill was pretty greasy and had a puddle of grease forming underneath it on the wooden porch which, seemed to be getting bigger with the heat of the day. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.

Why they chose this property

Our cabin is a great little place to retreat and get away from it all. It is a peaceful place yet only minutes away from town with a multitude of restaurants and shops available. Cabin sits next to Lincoln National Forest with magical views and an abundant amount of seasonal outdoor activities in the area.
