Great home for families and eventful gatherings. 1& 1/2 hours from DC and Northern Va. master bedroom California king bed. 1st bedroom Queen bed. 2nd bedroom twin beds. Reading room with trundle bed and desk. Kitchen spices & condiments. Stove top, convection oven. Microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher. 2 - 6quart crock pots. Coffee maker. Blender, mixer , iron and ironing board. Washer and dryer Large family room room seats 8. Eat in kitchen table for 4. Downstairs room with futon. Family room with sofa hide a bed queen , love seat hide a bed full size. Solid oak table seats 10 plus table with 22 chairs for large gatherings. Huge garage plus covered carport at back of house. Small covered back porch. End deck with swings.
Linens provided. Books, games and puzzles. Wildlife viewing. Great photography Scenic drives. Remote. 3 miles on gravel road. Paved driveway. Air conditioning heat pump. 3 wood burning fireplaces 2 bathroom upstairs and 1/2 downstairs a few minor inconveniences 1st cell coverage is limited. Verizon works well on side deck and yard. Television is antenna and very limited channels. Great if you just want to get away and relax.

A home full of history and love

A lovely home in a beautiful setting with breathtaking views and more than enough space for everyone to enjoy the quiet in their own quiet spot.

Best vacation ever

We absolutely had a wonderful time at your rental home ! Mostly spent our time at Bryce resort but came back for the evenings and grilled steak down at the picnic area which was perfect ! Beautiful place on the upstairs patio to hang out and watch the sunrise ! Sleeping arrangements were perfect for 12 guys … our stay couldn’t have been better !!! Thanks so much !!

Nice getaway with beautiful views!

We had a nice and comfortable stay at Jake and Melinda’a place. The views are majestic and it’s truly secluded. The outdoor playset was a lot of fun for kids!

Nice retreat after a day of skiing

This is a big, beautiful home. Great for families all year round. Our family went for a ski trip. It was great to come back to the house in the evenings and relax in the family room. We made fires every night, which was something we don't get to do in our suburban home. Walks in the morning were wonderful in the fresh mountain air. We played games, watched movies, made s'mores over the fire and had a great time!

Best family trip

We need it some get away ... and this was just the perfect house for our huge family... the location is perfect to stay away from the city and some peace of mind ... the kids had fun we are from new yourk and we got so much space and qe enjoy every minute of it

Jake was born in Virginia, Melinda in North Carolina met 48 years ago and within 8 months we were married. Have 4 children, 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. This house was built in 1982 by Jakes Dad, brothers our son and many friends. It is a very well built house. We currently live between here, Asheville, N.C. And Florida. We like to travel. Play bluegrass gospel music and generally enjoy living this life that God has provided us with.

Why they chose this property

We bought this house from Jakes Mom. His dad died 8 years ago and it is important to us to keep it in the family.

What makes this property unique

The house has 2 porch swings built by Dad years ago. We love to sit out there and just enjoy the views. Deer hang around the house and we never get tired of watching them. This summer we also had a small bear in the back yard. Pretty neat.
