Beautiful, cozy spot by the beach in a great location. Had everything we needed. Other than the small issue of the unit not being clearly marked, everything went well and we had a fantastic time:)
Super cute home with lots of small details. We were on island for a large family get together so we weren't able to spend as much time as we would have like at this super cute home The view is amazing and having coffee on the patio was my favorite pary of the day.
The house was very nice. It isn't evident from the photos, but it's a duplex unit comprising half of a house, separated from the other half by double-locking doors. The rooms were spacious and the view can't be beat! You are situated right on the waterfront. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching the marine traffic heading to Seattle. We saw two different pods of porpoises swim by. The rooms in this house are awash in sunny light. The kitchen was well-appointed. Check-in and check-out procedures were clear and the one time we reached out with a question, the hosts answered prompty. We had a great stay and would definitely rent this home again. Thanks!
It was such a treat to get away for my Birthday! The place was absolutely beautiful and the beach was amazing! There was everything we could possibly need and more. Loved it!
The view was beautiful and the beachfront location stunning. It was super convenient to Fort Casey where the sunset was amazing. Coupeville itself is adorable and we loved walking the town. At the house the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well-appointed. The filtered water was a nice touch.Unfortunately this home is also directly under the training flight path for OLF Coupeville and, at the time of this review, that fact is not listed in the property description. I am well-acquainted with Whidbey jet noise but this is next level. Jets were constant – about every minute – with very little relief. They lasted from the time we arrived (4pm) and did not stop until after midnight. We could not go outside. Even with all windows/doors closed it was still loud and at times impossible to have a conversation. I understand that this is not under the property owner’s control nor is it every day, but it’s irresponsible to not mention this possibility in the description. Other properties on the island that experience significant jet noise DO have a disclaimer on their property description. We still had a great time because quite frankly it was so obnoxious we couldn’t do anything but laugh, however if we would have had small children with us who needed to nap/go to bed at a decent hour/wanted to go play on the beach we would have been pretty upset. If you DO have small children I would not recommend renting this property unless you are sure there are no trainings scheduled.

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
Disliked: Check-in, listing accuracy
Misinformed
The fantastic view was the best part and the home was clean with nice decor. However, the ad said there were 3 queen beds but there are only 2 and a smaller than twin size pull out couch bed that would only be comfortable for a kid. Also, I booked this about a month in advance and paid in full. I never received check-in instructions so I messaged the host and she said she doesn't know why it allowed me to book because she had it blocked but that she would send her daughter to clean it ASAP and that we could check in at 6:30pm instead of 4. When we got there it was hard to tell which house it was because it was tucked back from the road and there were cars in front and no address on the very front that was visible. So I called the host who was ironically in AK where I was visiting from. She gave me verbal directions and said there shouldn't have been vehicles out front. She said she manages this property but isn't the owner. We easily got in with door code and the view is unbelievable just like the photos. However, we were disappointed to find only 2 queen beds. So I called again after looking at the ad and informed her that I was upset since the ad was wrong. She argued with me at first saying she listed it correctly then admitted it was wrong! She then apologized and said she'd update the ad and ask the owner about a refund. I asked for half to be refunded and she said they only give 25 per "incident" but that she felt I deserved 75 total. In my opinion that wasn't enough!

About the host

I am a long time Whidbey Island resident. I love the scenery and culture of this place. Sharing it with our guests is my passion. I manage several properties in the short term rental capacity and can even help you to find your forever home here on Whidbey as a realestate agent!! (**Coming soon**)
Why they chose this property
This place happened serindipitously, my whole career did in fact. I am a stay at home mom of 7 who has a background in construction. After a decade of homeschooling i took a cleaning job here and there, pulled from my construction background to add to my offerings then ended up creating relationships that last generations with my cliebts that lead to here. Whidbey is the perfect setting for vacation rentals due to the high number of vacation homes. Why not put your money to work while youre away? I live just a couple miles away and experiencing the ocean is why we stay. Sharing it with others is why I work. I love it!!
What makes this property unique
This single story home is a unique build. The owner has twin boys and had this built to accomidate them later in life. It is a 4000 square foot home with 2 seperate sides. The rental is side 1. Both are 2 bedrooms 2 baths with an office and a beautiful kitchen. Because the back yard IS the beach the opportunity is yours to enjoy the water!!
