Beautiful Loft-style unit with Ocean Views and Expansive Deck

Situated in the rolling hills of Villa Borinquen, picturesque Casa Coqui Verde presents beautiful vistas of Vieques Sound, East Puerto Rico, and El Yunque, making it a congenial base for exploring Vieques Island. Located off a secluded rural road about a mile and a half from the pueblo of Isabel Segunda, our lovely guest house is perfect for those who come for restful seclusion and relaxation.

Our comfortable, expansive open-style apartment is appointed and decorated with a fine Caribbean flair. The accommodation spans over seven hundred and fifty square feet of open space. Up to five guests can comfortably enjoy one queen, one double beds and sofa bed. Ten foot ceilings ventilated by fans circulate fresh tropical air both day and night. It is also equipped with air conditioning if one gets a bit much of the sun at one of Vieques’s lovely beaches.

The private outdoor space with a gazebo and lounging chairs affords a shaded, spectacular view to the sea, perfect for enjoying breakfast, ocean-gazing, or counting stars. Our guest area is privately gated and separately accessible from the main house and yard where you can securely park your car.

Our gracious hosts, Valerie and Freddy, greeted us when we arrived. They showed us around and made us feel right at home. The apartment is a very large room with high ceilings and comfortable furniture. In case you think the deck could not possibly be as large as it looks in the photos, you would be wrong. It's huge and the view of the hills out towards the sea is gorgeous!

Freddy and Val were excellent hosts - very welcoming and friendly. Val gave us fruit from the property and Freddy helped my husband when our rental car had an issue. The property is up in the hills a short ride to town so you will definitely need a car or jeep to get around the island. The views were stunning from the patio and the constant breeze and many overhead fans kept the unit comfortable for relaxing and sleeping. It is nicely decorated with an open floor plan. Everything we needed for cooking or entertainment was provided. The loft was clean and all furniture was in good condition. This was a great value and worked perfectly for us because we like being away from loud restaurants and bars. It is a peaceful spot on a magical island.

great escape

We had a wonderful stay! Freddy and Val were very accommodating and had everything that we needed. We really appreciated the extra effort they put in to make sure we had transportation upon our arrival to the island. Having snorkel/beach gear was also very thoughtful. We just needed to stay a few more days!!!

This is no “basement studio” rental—the apartment is spacious, clean, well-equipped, and includes a very large walk-out deck with outdoor shower and sitting area. Anything you could want for visiting the beach (snorkel, chairs, towels, umbrellas) are included, and the hosts are a wealth of information about local spots.

Amazing stay near Isabel II

Casa Coqui Verde was the perfect place to recharge after exploring the island of Vieques. The loft is spacious and clean, with plenty of fans if you want to enjoy the ocean breeze and air conditioning if you prefer to sleep a little cooler. Freddy was so kind and met us at the car rental to guide us to the loft. You definitely want an SUV for the rugged roads. Val and Freddy even shared bananas and star fruit from their property with us! Thanks for helping to make our first trip to Vieques so memorable.

Hidden gem off the beaten path

Freddy and Val’s place is a must stay for those looking for those looking for ultimate relaxation in a beautiful location. From the airport pickup and grocery store run Freddy and Val could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Their home is equipped with everything you nee - a small but fully stocked kitchen, beach gear including towels, chairs, a cooler and snorkel gear as well comfortable and spacious living a d sleeping space. We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back!

The hosts were so accommodating and kind. The spacious room had two large beds and a side patio overlooking the ocean. Everything we could have ever needed was there. Very quiet for good island sleeping.

Excellent place to stay with a beautiful view

Such a nice place to stay. You're up in the hills down a bouncy dirt road. Freddy came to meet us to lead us to the property and show us around. He was generous enough to share some of the fruit from his property that was in season. We had a small issue with the ac leaking one night, but he had an ac repair guy come that day to get it taken care of. It wasn't even needed much because of the wonderful island breeze keeping the house cool for most of the day.

We completely enjoyed our time here. The apartment was very clean and provided everything we need. The views were beauiful and we felt very peaceful and relaxed. Spaceous and clean

Our family and me enjoyed our stay here. The y have a lot fruiting trees and plants around the property and we got to eat them as much as we can. The host were very kind and came all the way to pick us from the rental car location. The views from the balcony were amazing. They also have all the stuff for beach activities like umbrella, chairs, coolers, snorkeling gear and fishing rods.

Great place, very clean, very large. Can't beat a washer/dryer on a beach vacation. We used Freddy's car, which was perfect as their are limited options for car rentals during the high season; it was a beater, but perfect for hitting the beach and not worrying about leaving a little sand inside. THERE IS NOTHING LIKE VIEQUES!

Originally from Ireland, Val retired to Vieques in 2014 with her husband Freddy. We had been coming here on vacation for 7 years before that, but the very first night we stayed I said to Freddy "This is it!" He asked me what I meant and I said "This is where we will retire". We have traveled extensively in Africa Asia and Europe but Vieques is home. Vieques is very laid-back and will grow on you!
