Private 2 Story Cottage - Walk to Los Olivos!

Welcome! Our beautiful cottage is just a short 10 minute walk to the center of Los Olivos. Drive through the gates of our private 5 acre ranch, past the corrals, up the tree lined drive and enter our renovated cottage. The cottage used to be a hunting cabin back in the 1960's and still retains all of it's charm.
Enter into the living area with thick log walls where you'll find hardwood floors and a gas fireplace that open onto a dining area with a huge bay window. There's a complete kitchen with dark granite counters and marble floors, and a laundry/pantry room with your own washer & dryer. Tucked near the stairs is a fully equipped, renovated bathroom with a big, tiled shower and large fluffy towels. Off the dining area, there's a cozy bedroom with a queen size bed and views of the garden. Wander up the staircase and you will discover the perfect master-suite. Light the fireplace and sink into the queen size bed with down comforter for a fabulous night's sleep. Just steps away is the bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi tub framed by Carrara marble.
The front deck has a porch swing and a wrought-iron table & chairs with a BBQ around the side. Across the yard is a picnic table under bistro lights if you prefer to dine al fresco.
For entertainment, the cottage has a 32 inch flatscreen TV in the living area with a Roku box that has Netflix and Amazon (no live tv/cable).
There's a dedicated Wifi network covering all of the house and grounds.

Cyclists are welcome! Los Olivos is a haven for cyclists. You can stash your bikes in our bike garage and if you need tools or air, we can help.

The cottage is a short 1/2 mile from the town of Los Olivos. It is situated up on a hill surrounded by huge mature trees, and an occasional inquisitive horse in the nearby pastures. You won't see any streetlights here. Close enough to pop into town but totally secluded for your privacy. SLEEPS 4 MAX.

Lovely cottage and great hosts!

We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay. The home was cozy and well equipped. The grounds were serene and relaxing. The hosts are very welcoming, available and accommodating. We would stay again.

Great Place to stay

The house and property were very clean and well cared for. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. It's a short distance of the main street and gated as well so it was very private and quiet. We hope to stay here the next time we visit the area!

Wonderful Getaway!

Spotless clean! Beds were so comfortable! I loved the shower and the wall heater in the bathroom, as it was cold when we were there. Kitchen is lovely and fully stocked. It was a very cozy location perfect for the 4 of us! We had a wonderful stay!

Awesome location to explore Santa Barbara County Wine region

Clean, comfortable and well appointed two bedroom cottage was just what we needed during our three night stay in Los Olivos. Close enough to “town” but still tucked away and quiet. Centrally located to all the tasting rooms and wineries we wanted to hit. And the eggs from the chickens on the property were very tasty.

Charming cottage

We absolutely loved this adorable cottage!! It was perfect for 4 of us for a girls weekend. We actually brought lunch home one afternoon so we could sit outside and enjoy the serene view, complete with horses!! Also a perfect location, close to downtown. The added bonus was the farm fresh eggs from the owner, just delightful. Would 100% stay here again and highly recommend.

Absolutely lovely!

Enjoyed our stay tremendously! Very comfortable home! Loved walking to Los Olivos, visiting the lavender farm, coffee at Corner House Cafe, farm fresh eggs for breakfast at the house! and gazing at the multitude of stars at night. And dinner at SY Kitchen was phenomenal! Thank you Karen & John!

Wine Country Wonderful

Easy to find, hard to leave! The decor is lovely, the beds and furnishings comfortable, and the kitchen and baths well- stocked. The property, views, and landscaping are magnificent, such privacy - a real escape for us DC suburbanites. John and Karen are great hosts and lovely people, a pleasure. The horses, donkeys, and chickens are nice neighbors., and the hens outdid themselves with those delicious eggs. We visited many wineries within 30 minutes drive. The Gathering Table was “fit for foodies” and a 5 minute drive. Cheers!

John and Karen’s cottage in Los Olivos was a perfect get away for our 37th anniversary. Was clean, the beds we’re comfortable and the sheets and towels were great! John was on hand and was there if anything was needed (it wasn’t). Great host!! We didn’t eat there with all the options in town, Solvang and Santa Yanez, but kitchen was well stocked. We VRBO 3 or 4 times a year and found their cottage to be delightful! There was a small dog in the area that barked in the middle of the night for a couple hours but oh well there had to be something 😀 Was very neat to wake up to the sounds of chickens. Definitely planning on going again!

This is absolutely the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Los Olivos and surrounding communities. The 2 story cottage is just perfect. Its location is great. We rode the bicycles the owner provided, into town daily. My husband and I are retired seniors and riding the bike was an awesome bonus. There is also a coffee shop within a block or 2 that you can ride to. The owner provided us with fresh eggs from his chickens which we made daily. He even left fresh tomato’s! The horse farm was a delight. If we are ever back in the area we will 100% rent again.

Private sanctuary

My experience was incredible. The property is like having your own sanctuary. It was so quiet and peaceful. The owner was also really nice and was very helpful, especially since it was my first time booking a Vrbo. I will definitely stay hereagain. I pretty much gave a 5 star on most all categories because most everything was outstanding, except for the accuracy of the online listing. It was a bit confusing because it listed a hot tub. I thought the hot tub was outdoors but it wasn't. But, other than that, I had a wonderful experience.

Cozy countryside cottage

Cozy Cottage

This is a cute cottage in great proximity to Los Olivos. We walked to town a few times. Fun hangout areas, comfy beds and well stocked kitchen. We will definitely stay here again.
