This summer brought an unusually intense heat wave, and one of the hottest days happened to fall during your stay. While the cabin is usually quite comfortable thanks to natural shade, good insulation, and a ceiling fan, we’ve since added a portable AC unit to ensure extra comfort during those rare extreme days. To clarify for future guests: each cabin has its own private bathroom compartment—not shared—with running water, a full shower, toilet, and sink, located just a short walk from the cabin. The temporary odor you experienced was likely due to the extreme heat, but we always monitor and maintain the washrooms closely. As mentioned in our listing, the cabin itself is off-grid and does not have plumbing inside. That’s why we provide a large jug of potable water with an electric pump, and we offer complimentary dishwashing service so guests don’t have to worry about cleanup. The rustic nature of the experience is part of the charm, and we always appreciate when guests embrace it while sharing helpful feedback.
