It desperately needs a paint job. Toilet wasn’t flushing when we arrived and was unaware of window unit (upstairs) bedroom which wasn’t cooling. One sofa had stains on it. With a paint job it could be “charming”…we checked out a day early.Host and communication good but for us property not as pictures appeared. Not close to King
Everything was as expected and communication from host was perfect! It was our first time ever using VRBO so I was nervous but it all worked out great!
We had a great stay. Great location and the host had excellent communication and was very responsive. My favorite part of checkout was “don’t worry about chores”. We’ll definitely rent again when in Charleston. Thank you!
This was a great place to stay, easy ride from the airport and so many places in walking distance or quick Ubers. Super accommodating with any messages and questions and SUPER clean! Would stay here again!
Excellent! We loved everything! Great location and sound machines were very helpful as in town location can be a bit noisy. Quite a walk to get to King Street as it was cold outside but Uber was readily available. Everything was provided & in great working order. An ice maker would have been nice in freezer but not a big deal at all. Parking was also very tight but manageable. All in all, highly recommended!
We had a lovely stay! The living area, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms were all very attractive and clean. I appreciated that there were lots of hangers in the bedrooms. Having 2 sofas sitting opposite the other was so nice for hanging out and conversation. And for watching the TV together. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The deck was a lovely place to spend time talking and reading. When the temperature was warm, the deck was shaded and had a nice breeze. The upstairs bedroom meant climbing stairs, and going downstairs to the closest bathroom, but that worked well enough for us. We were close enough to walk between 1/2 mile and a mile to downtown, but we got a rental car so that we could try restaurants that were farther away, like Hank's (their Shrimp Basil Burger is awesome) and LoLa (excellent seafood and Praline Pecan Cornbread). Looking back, we wouldn't have needed a car. There were very good restaurants in downtown Charleston, like Hyman's. Our favorite activities besides shopping and eating were the walking tour with Liz Butler that started at Buxton Books and the Nathaniel Russell House, both downtown. The only thing that took practice was parking our car at the property. Historic houses in Charleston have one narrow parking space beside the house for a vehicle. If you have a midsized SUV or smaller, you should be fine. We'd love to stay here again!
Great location with a short walk to restaurants and shops on King Street. Plenty of room for 3 couples in town to celebrate a birthday. Kitchen had all the amenities we needed for mixing cocktails and morning coffee. Refrigerator was under sized for a place of this size and didn’t have an ice maker. Bedrooms were comfortable. Master bathroom had huge walk in shower with bath tub in size. Water pressure in the hall bathroom was very low. Overall it was perfect for a long weekend.
A great place to stay with my daughter and her two teen-aged daughters! The double-high open space was a wonderful place to hang while others were making brunch, watching a film, playing a game, or reading. Teens were upstairs in a king bed and had their own bath; downstairs, the shower had its own room.Location was on a busy street but the historic house is shielded by beautiful trees and the neighborhood was historically interesting. A comfortable walk to points of interest and lovely relaxing place to stay.
