Very comfortable and spacious. Had some issues with check-in but I blame the VRBO app more than anything. The backyard was very nice and it was a great place to stay with family.

We apologize again for the delay in entry. I was glad I was able to help. Thank you for your patience feedback. We appreciate it!
This house was the perfect in-town getaway for my staff and I. The listing was accurate in every sense, so clean and had everything we needed for a few days away.
The home itself is stunning. It gave the atmosphere hostess was going for. The hostess responses were rapid (thank you for your quick response). When we arrived the neighbor next door started taking pictures of us with her cell phone which felt uncomfortable. The upstais shower had a previous guest pubic hairs in it which demonstrated it wasn't properly cleaned. There was no iron and ironing board so we had to use the dryer to get the wrinkles out of our clothes. Two of the three issues could have been overlooked but the bathroom was my biggest concern.
It was a very clean property with a ton of space with updated bathrooms and kitchen. The only thing to note is the area around is up and coming, but seems a little sketchy.
I have never experienced anything like this with a VRBO rental! Arrived at the property and was very discouraged by the adjacent residences. Street parking only and my spot was directly behind a car with the windows busted out and plastic taped over them. Screams were heard from the neighbor’s house. Before unloading luggage, my sisters and I decided to take a look at the house. We were immediately assaulted by the smell of sewage from a busted sewer line adjacent to the property. We got into the house (after many attempts with the lock) and saw a box with plastic shoe coverings to prevent us walking on the shag carpet with street shoes. I will say that the two bathrooms and kitchen were the redeeming qualities. The bedrooms however were upstairs with window air conditioners in two of them. One sounded very loud. The master bedroom with the king bed had no air conditioning. The back door knob was hanging on by a thread and was not secured at all. There was a deadbolt but it appeared that the door had been tampered with. We did not stay. I requested a full refund from the property manager to no avail. She reluctantly gave a partial refund and then tried to bill it back to me because she said that she mistakenly gave me too much. I would not typically give a review like this but was advised by an agent to give my honest feedback. Pictures on the rental sites can be deceptive. What looked like a charming home for a sister getaway turned out to be anything but!

Thank you for your feedback. I do want to clarify a few things for future guests.
You decided not to stay within about 20 minutes of arriving and did not spend the night or experience the home itself. I cannot control neighboring properties or street parking, and while this is an older, up-and-coming neighborhood, I have managed this property for nearly two years and have never had another guest report safety concerns.
There was no busted sewer line or active sewage issue. Before your arrival, I explained that sewer work had previously been done at the neighboring property and that the damaged sidewalk was related to that work.
The home is over 100 years old and does have central air. Because historic homes can struggle during extreme heat, we also provide window units upstairs for additional comfort.
The back doorknob was not hanging on by a thread or tampered with. It was simply loose and needed tightened.
This reservation was booked under a strict no-refund policy and was canceled at check-in. Even so, I still tried to compromise and issue a partial refund. Due to a platform error, you received more than intended. When I requested the additional $105 back, it was because a VRBO representative advised me to do so.
I respect your right to leave a review, but I believe it’s important for future guests to know that this review was based largely on assumptions about the neighborhood rather than issues actually experienced while staying in the home.

Absolutely loved the house and owner, but VRBO was terrible to deal with and we couldn’t get into the house until after 9pm
