We were quite comfortable in the apartment which was equipped with all that was needed for our 8 day stay. It was clean and in a safe neighborhood. We were close to stores, activities and the beach.Hurricane debris was visible so the property rating is negligible. Hurricane damaged

This property should not be listed with VRBO! It is at the back of a garage. The only window is a frosted glass window above the sink. There are two doors with glass in the top portion but these have “stained glass” contact paper on them so there is literally no view of the outdoors (unless you leave one of the doors standing open with no screen). However, having no view of the outdoors might be considered a good thing as the view would be of a pond covered with green scum or of clutter in the yard. The other portion of the garage houses the washer and dryer, as well as being storage for various appliances and furniture. This washer and dryer is shared with numerous other people who live in a 3 unit building on back behind the unit we were in. So there are times that the washer/dryer are unavailable as others leave their items for many hours. Additionally people smoke in this garage/laundry room and that smoke seeps into the unit, plus people were sometimes doing laundry at 10:30 or 11 at night very near our bed with just a thin wall between. We did not have hot water in our shower the first few days. The owner did have this worked on and it was tolerable the rest of the time. There is a lot of clutter (old equipment, appliances, building materials, old furniture, etc.) both inside the garage and outside on the property. The pool listed did not appear to be filtered and we saw no evidence that it was cleaned during our stay. It was a disappointing stay overall!

Host Steve and sister Pat very nice

The host and his sister were very nice and accommodating. I was excited to find a place available late notice in order to extend my stay in Fla. I have never had to leave a rental before but after 2 out of 7 booked nights of very little sleep d/t an allergic reaction I reluctantly had to go. My symptoms cleared when I was not at the rental (at beach or store etc) and that’s how I knew it was something at the rental affecting me.I really wanted to stay and that’s the reason I left early. I only mention that in case future renters may have allergies. Lots of nature on property that looked interesting. Again didn’t want to go but had to, host was understanding about it.

Dissatisfied

We arrived about 7:30 pm after 11 hours of travel, hungry and tired. After eating we were able to look around a bit. The entire place had dust and little bits of something that looked like white stuffing everywhere. Even hanging in spider webs. Think it was ceiling insulation. The toilet was gross. I couldn’t sit down until wiping it down. There was a roach in the trashcan One closet door was hanging and when we bumped it, it fell off. The mattress was uncomfortable. Without knowing what the dust was and my health issues we could not stay. It really made for a stressful couple days scrambling for a place to stay.

Heavily wooded lot in area of large homes located on 1-5 acre sites. Great for walking, biking etc. Our lot on Hidden Lake attracts multiple wildlife including turtles, ducks, eagles, heron, egrets etc.
