Nestled in Aquinnah, not far from the Gay Head lighthouse, this enchanting home in a beautiful pastoral setting with a private beach access, was purchased in 1960 by our family and we treasure it. It has been lovingly maintained and expanded while keeping its traditional Vineyard charm. Enjoy the beautiful views and natural light that fill the cozy and artistic/eclectic living spaces creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Perfect for a group of friends or family, the house has three bedrooms, each in a different section of the house for excellent privacy and 3 full bathrooms. There is also an outdoor shower for cleaning up after a day at the beach.
The Kitchen and main living room is an open concept that is wonderful for socializing while making and sharing meals. Next to this main room is a beautiful sun room with couches to lounge on and a piano.
There is a large newly renovated deck overlooking the property as well as a stone patio with fire pit for relaxing outdoors.
The Vineyard Sound and private beach access is a short stroll --10 minutes--across the meadows and down a picturesque winding set of stairs from the spectacular bluff.
Whether you are unwinding in the comfortable bedrooms, preparing a meal in the fully equipped kitchen or taking the short stroll down to the beach for a swim, this fantastic property is sure to make your stay unforgettable! My brothers and I are co-managing this property that we have been coming to on Martha's Vineyard for decades. We love being here together as we enjoy the many beautiful swimming, hiking, windsurfing, boating, fishing, and culinary options of this spectacular island. We love the saltwater!! And we have so many wonderful memories of our gatherings with family and friends. One family we have rented to for decades has had their own parallel experience and treat the home as their own for the weeks they rent every year.

Why they chose this property
Being at the sea just lifts my spirits beyond any other experience in this world. The vast sky and water vistas, the beautiful clay cliffs, and the ever changing shore exploration capture one's senses and give them an infusion that works to re-boot the body, mind and heart. The sounds of the waves play the "background music" and are a powerful part of this experience.
What makes this property unique
My father renovated this home over the decades that we have lived here. He designed simple but artistic additions to the house. It is infused with his visual creativity and that of others. Each room is unique with its own character. But there is a beautiful and eclectic "waterfront home" theme that permeates the design elements of the structure, turning it into a cohesive nurturing home by the sea.
