Excellent in every way. Very clean, very well-equipped and very well-maintained. You can really see all the care that goes into this home. Our two favorite aspects were the location - so private and so close to the beach - and the charm of the house, which was very appealing - a giant step above all the other rentals we looked at. We would highly recommend this house and definitely return again.
Large house, plenty of separate areas for folks to gather or be private. Loved the owners' decorating choices. First rental in a while where getting the TV and DVD player to work wasn't a total mystery. Lots of decks. Guests came and went; our max was 10 people at one time and no problem with sleeping accommodations for that number. The owners and their rep were very pleasant to deal with. Overall a fabulous experience.

Great guests. Dan and family were most pleasant to work with and left the house is great condition. We would certainly welcome a return visit from them any time and would give them a top-rated recommendation.
The listing and photos don’t do this house justice. This is a very special home, and is the best house we’ve rented, and we’ve rented dozens in beautiful places all over the country. Everyone in our family - ages 9 to 52 - had an exceptional stay. Imagine the quintessential home on the ocean with rambling staircases, bookshelves, and light-filled windows. That’s this house. The house is ticked-away down a short, dead end road walking and biking distance to the beach. In the evenings, the sea fog rolls in and everything becomes cozy. Never fear, however, most days the sunshine breaks through and fills up the home with light. This is a large home, but every room is cozy. The owners have obviously thoughtfully and loving cared for, decorated, and loved this home. Simply put, if you stay here, you won’t regret it, and you will want to plan your next stay the day you leave.

Jason was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. He and family left the house in excellent condition. We would certainly look forward to having them back at the house anytime.
So pleased we decided to spend our summer vacation in MV's Skye Lane. Ellen et al were exemplary hosts, and we could not be more thankful for how well they welcomed us to their home. We highly recommend it to any and all families!
We have stayed many years in Aquinnah and were delighted to stay and Lee and Todd’s home. Their home is well-loved, decorated, finished and also pristine and ideally situated. It feels secluded at the end of a quite road, but it is a short walk or bike to Lobsterville beach, and a nice ride to the bike ferry or the Cliffs or Philbin. The kitchen is supremely well-equipped for those interested in cooking. The home is filled with beautiful details - woodwork and fabrics that are unique and interesting, throughout. We never needed AC because the home is also breezy with multiple decks. If you have the opportunity also recommend taking a day sail with Lee and Todd on the Magic Carpet sailboat - a beautiful boat and they are charming hosts.

Aquinnah Skye is our family's vacation dream house
We've loved all our trips to Martha's Vineyard, but this year's was the best. We stayed at the exquisite Aquinnah Skye with our family, including our 16 month old grandchild, Sophia. We choose our summer rentals online, vet them very carefully and have high expectations. Aquinnah Skye exceeded them all! The house has great character and is beautiful inside and out. The furnishings and fabrics are lovely as well as extremely comfortable. The kitchen is modern, large and very well equipped from a lemon zester to a restaurant-quality stove. The house is suffused with light and cool breezes due to its many windows and doors. There was someplace for everyone to be together (living room, tv room, sunroom) or to sit quietly and read or contemplate nature (two decks downstairs and one upstairs). The house is surrounded by flower beds, trellises and annuals which Sophia loved to water with her watering can. We chose to cook at home every night, each one of us taking responsibility for planning and cooking at least one dinner. And for dessert the Orange Peel Bakery is just around the corner and Chilmark Chocolates is down the road apiece. We got wonderful sandwiches and pizza at the Chilmark General Store, just ten minutes from the house.
If Aquinnah Skye was our own home, we can't imagine what we would do to make it more perfect. Thank you Lee and Tod for letting us borrow your beautiful home and make it our home for a week.

Perfect Martha's Vineyard Retreat
My family and I had such a lovely time staying at Aquinnah Skye this summer! The house is conveniently located to two beautiful beaches, but is far removed from the hustle and bustle of Vineyard Haven and the other towns. The house itself is just lovely. It's spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with colorful dishes and all the cookware you could possibly need. We were able to really make ourselves at home. The house is also immaculately clean and well kept, with charming details throughout. I would highly recommend this for any large group who wants a relaxing retreat in a quiet part of the Island. We loved the house so much that we hope to make this an annual trip!

About the host
Hosted by Lee
We are year-rounders. Tod grew up on the island and I washed ashore 30 years ago. This is our home. We are both sailors, travelers, and skilled in the fixings of both wooden boats and houses. Tod is also a carpenter by trade and built the original Post & Beam house in the late 70's. Over the years there have been additions and constant renovation & maintenance. We love living in our house in the off-season. In season, we operate the classic wooden yawl/sailing charter boat, S/V Magic Carpet, out of Edgartown Harbor and live aboard during those months ... Aquinnah is the perfect destination to get away from it all and relax, recharge and regroup. The house is very well equipped, all you need are provisions, and a sense of wonder and curiosity to explore the surrounding beaches and trails, if you can steal away from that good book you've brought. When you finish that book, come for a sail on Magic Carpet!
