Our Hale Makai ('Ocean house') is a spectacular home at a great value. A rare corner unit with gorgeous 180 degree ocean views from all rooms and the wrap-around lanai, we invite you to come here, relax and enjoy the aloha that our vacation home provides (and that Kauai is world-famous for!). The View

Our condo sits on the edge of a bluff overlooking the Pacific ocean and both bedrooms and the living room boast breathtaking ocean views. Wake up to an ocean view from your bed, fall asleep to the sounds of the ocean, have your morning coffee on the lanai and soak up the unspoiled ocean view. In season, watch the whales frolic and the albatross soar by without ever leaving. Also, our condo faces north so from the lanai you can also catch the colorful kaleidoscope of sunrise skies to the east and sunset skies to the west. Our condo is your front row seat to all of the above!

The Accommodations

Our condo is a two-bedroom, two-bath unit that sleeps five comfortably, has air-conditioning (in the summer you will want it!), and is furnished with tropical, island-style decor. The master has a cal-king bed and the second bedroom has a queen bed, both with very comfortable plush-top mattresses and 700+-thread count linens. There is also a full-size air bed (which inflate and deflates in minutes). The master bedroom also has 35" smart TV - so you can use your Hulu/Amazon Prime/NetFlix account to stream your favorite movies.

The floor plan is open and airy, and the condo flows from a well-appointed kitchen (fully remodeled in April 2024) and island/bar to a separate dining area and comfortably furnished living area. For your entertainment, there is a 55” flat panel Smart TV (Roku/Netflix/Hulu/etc.) and an Alexa Echo Dot. A ductless A/C system was installed in late 2025 and there are ceiling fans throughout (as well as ample windows in our corner condo to catch the crisp, tropical breeze). We also provide snorkel gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, and other beach gear to suit all you needs.

The Ali'i Kai complex

Ali'i Kai is a small, quiet complex of 56 units spread over seven buildings. Lushly landscaped with palm trees, birds of paradise, hibiscus, and plumeria trees, the grounds are gorgeous. Ali'i Kai features a resort-style pool, as well as tennis court privileges at the Makai Tennis Club. There are charcoal BBQs in several locations nearby. The inviting walk/jog path that runs through Princeville - with breathtaking views of the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other - is only a half-mile away.

This property is in a great and the views from the bedrooms and lanai are just amazing! I was a little worried about not having A/C but the breeze off the ocean was very comfortable! We left our windows open at bedtime and it was so peaceful to hear the waves. The condo was perfect for our family of four and in the perfect location for all that we did while in Princeville/Hanalei. The host was very nice and I would definitely stay here again and recommend this condo to family and friends.

Absolutely incredible! The perfect home base for all of our adventures on Kauai's gorgeous north shore. The ocean views, cooling breezes, and comfy furniture made it great for relaxing in between expeditions. The host provided everything to make our stay super comfortable: the kitchen is beautifully remodeled and stocked, and there are beach chairs, coolers towels, and sand toys ready to go. The host is a wonderfully responsive communicator. Highly recommend. We hope to come back!

Everything you need for a great north shore vacation. It’s definitely outdated but we didn’t care at all! The location is hands down one of the best places in North Shore. Views though every window! Would recommend this place for everyone.

Winter Getaway!

We have been enjoying visiting various Hawaiian islands the past three years! This was our first visit to Kauai. The island as well the condo didn’t disappoint! Really did have an ocean view from every room. It would have been nice in the listing to say that there were coolers available so we wouldn't have bought one prior to checking in. Bare minimum of bathroom towels so we had to do laundry several times.
