Welcome to our charming village and unique pet friendly cottage in Grand Beach – the perfect blend of cozy comfort and playful eccentricity!



Nestled less than a mile from the shores of Lake Michigan and just a short 5-minute drive to downtown New Buffalo, our cottage is the ideal retreat for families, girls trips, couples get away.



Whether you're seeking a relaxing family getaway or a whimsical retreat, The Hideaway House is the perfect destination.



The Space:

This Charming cottage is BIG on comfort. There are many seating areas in home and yard for enjoying a book, your favorite beverage or watching the kids play. We are less than a mile to two beach accesses, and centered between New Buffalo, MI and Michigan City, IN for shopping and restaurants. Indiana Dunes Nat'l Park, Warren Dunes Sate Park, New Buffalo Public Beach, and Washington Park Beach, all within 20 minutes.

Entire house and yard are accessible to guest.

The Neighborhood:

Tennis, pickleball, basketball, volleyball courts and playground are 10 minute walk. 9 Hole public golf course open in season (April - Nov.)

Lake Michigan Beach access within 1 mile (a 20 minute walk).



Getting Around:

Amtrak train to New Buffalo, MI stop which is 4 miles from the cottage. Local transportation company info available from host.

4 miles to Silver Event Center and Four Winds Casino. Uber/LYFT not available but host has contacts for transportation companies.



Other Things to Note:

-Early Check In/Late Check out is available for an additional 50 dollars upon approval this is only valid 24 hours prior to your check in date if there is not a same day turn over.

- There is technically only ONE bedroom. The second sleeping area is the loft. The loft has two twin beds and its own bathroom. While it is private, It is a true loft so there is no door. If you would like more pictures please feel free to ask!

- We are DOG friendly up to two pups for a fee of $115. Please make sure you include your pups in the reservation. Please NO CATS.

- No smoking of any kind in the house or porch, if you are found to have smoked inside or in the porch, there will be an automatic fine of $300 and potentially any additional cost for smoke remediation.

The house was clean and kitchen well stocked; beaches were close and within striking distance with the help of a golf cart - be sure to pay attention to local rules and traffic patterns! Great restaurants in New Buffalo down the road and the house was a fantastic homebase for all our Lake Michigan shenanigans!

I found this a perfect spot for a quiet retreat. Immaculately clean, well-equipped, beautifully decorated, with comfortable furniture in every room and two-enclosed porches. A straight 5-minute drive get you into New Buffalo.

The property was pet friendly and twice a deer walked through the yard while we were there. The kitchen had plenty of silverware and cooking utensils. The house was clean upon arrival.

Great place to stay while visiting New Buffalo

It was a very nice property, very private and easy access. The accommodation was very good, spacious , comfortable and very clean. The yard is a plus but what was key was the location with easy access to downtown New Buffalo as well as by the red arrow highway. I will return to this property. Also they are very quick to respond on any requests.

Perfect cozy retreat in New Buffalo

This place is such a peaceful, cozy retreat. I stayed for a few days with my dog and it was exactly what I needed — quiet, clean, and well-equipped. Grand Beach Road Getaway

The cottage is nicely done inside. We never made it to Grand Beach, drove down all the roads and couldn’t locate it. We had a small dog with us so were not able to use the beach in Michigan City and the beach’s towards Indiana were all private.

Just Lovely!

Couldn't have asked for a better place for a quiet getaway. A cozy little house nestled in a quiet neighborhood close to the cutest little town. It's close-ish to the railroad which I find to be comforting sound. So many comfy nooks to sit in and enjoy a book and coffee. The landscaping is so lovely! And the walk to the beach is great. Already can't wait to stay at the Hideaway House again!

Perfect, lovely, cozy home for my pup and I. The space and layout was great, with plenty of windows including skylights! I felt like we were in a snow globe with the snowfall during our stay. Even though the place is off of route 12, the road and area overall is very peaceful. Spacious yard as well!The host was not only responsive to my message upon arrival, but went above and beyond the day of our checkout when I couldn't get my car moving from the driveway because of the blizzard. They were super helpful in trying to get me out as soon as they could. I was able to track down a plow truck and the kind man helped me get out, thankfully. Cannot recommend this place enough. Spacious and cozy home and excellent hosts.

Great space, super manager!

This was a great space for our family of four! Nice areas to gather or to find some alone time. Equipped with everything we needed. Super easy checkin, checkout. One hiccup upon checkin, but property manager was super responsive and quickly met our needs. Appreciated the communication in advance of our stay and during our stay. Google maps showed the walk to the beach as 23 minutes, and we made that work but not ideal. The property feels very private, secluded despite being pretty close to road. Would recommend and definitely return!

Overall this was a good stay, and the property was well maintained. My two minor complaints are: 1) The plastic kitchen trash receptacle was broken for the duration of my visit. This meant that each time I wanted to throw out trash, I had to lift the lid with my hand. 2) The sunroom was not usable due to lack of heating. There was what appeared to be a gas stove in there, but it wasn’t made available to guests.

Perfect for Pet Families

This was a wonderful place to stay for my small family and our 7 year old Bernese. We found it clean, cozy, and with many of the amenities that one finds normally at a hotel but much more! Kitchen was stocked more than adequately with dishes and cookware making it easy to get the family feed quickly after arriving. Plenty of bath towels plus beach towels on hand. Host was quick to respond and check in. The only note that I would make is that the nearby beach is not pet friendly 24/7 - just morning and evenings. Not too big of a deal for us as we found a number of other very pet friendly beaches within a short drive. And what are vacations for if not exploring the area a little? Overall highly recommend, would stay again!

Overall, the place was nice. The listing didn’t have pictures of some of the place, so hard to plan for. Kitchen was great and was nice to have. Pretty well stocked with what was needed. Staircase creaked a lot without dampening at connection points, not great at night. But the place was well lit and homey. We enjoyed the location and quick access to beaches and New Buffalo downtown. The queen bed was honestly the worst part of the stay. Not very comfortable and very firm. I would not recommend if you weigh more than 150lbs or have back issues. Would have benefited from a mattress topper.There was a bit of an odd smell to the place but we didn’t mind that much after the first few minutes of being there. Had a great time - even taking our one year old along with us. House is really built for families or groups with kids 6 in age but we made it work for us.Also, one of the smoke alarms was missing in the master bedroom. And there was a light or two out that needed bulbs replaced (upstairs bathroom vanity and one elsewhere).Three season rooms were a great bonus and we spent a lot of time in there. Also enjoyed the record player and lots of coffee!Thanks for hosting us. But please update the mattress.
