Everything was perfect. The house was clean, well stocked and maintained nicely. Beautiful views. The host was amazing and very communicative. Even though our stay was short our family had an amazing time together.
Everything was perfect here and we so very much enjoyed our stay! Hosts are responsive should you need anything. The house is beautiful with an epic view. We loved drinking coffee on the deck and relaxing in the hot tub! We will definitely be returning.
This property was just as pictured and described. The location was convenient as it is only a few minutes from Murphy. There's a beautiful mountain view from almost the entire property. The home is very large and provided plenty of privacy for our adult children and their spouses. Plenty of entertainment is provided, as well - board games, table games, satellite TV, stereo, hot tub, etc., and plenty of room to enjoy them. Everything was clean, the beds were very comfortable, and there's even liquid soap, shampoo, and conditioner in the bathrooms. Honestly, all we needed were our clothes and groceries - everything else was already there. Communication with the host was great, also. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
House was very nice! It is secluded on a high hill with a beautiful view. House is very spacious with 3 bedrooms on top floor and a full basement with an additional bedroom and day bed. Basement also serves as a play room. Perfect for large families or multiple families. House was very clean. Only minor issues, such as shower curtain was broken in master bedroom when we arrived and TV was kind of a pain to deal with, but nothing that would keep us from staying here again. Very convenient to activities as well.
Beautiful house with stunning views of the mountains
We were 9 adults here for a wedding in Topton. The house was spacious, beds comfortable and kitchen well supplied. Sitting in the hot tub looking at the mountains was wonderful. The trundle bed in the game room turned out to be in a second room with a door (and the air hockey table) which was a plus as it gave more privacy. Would benefit greatly with some hooks on the wall or over the door as there is no where to put/hang clothes for the person(s) sleeping there. Can’t imagine how beautiful this place would be in the fall but would like to come back sometime and see. Definitely recommend this place!
Check in and out was a breeze. No fuss. Views are indescribable from every room. Well equipped and fairly clean home. We were a family group of 9 adults (4 couples) and a baby. Plenty of space. There are 4 bedrooms. 3 on main level (1 king master and 2 separate queen rooms with Jack and Jill)and 1 king downstairs with a separate daybed room and also a full bath and few couches throughout. You literally just need to bring your food and your clothing. Very comfy. Like home away from home. Lots of family board games. Also pool table, air hockey and ping pong were wonderful for keeping everyone entertained. Kitchen faucet is a bit tricky to turn completely off, and if stove stops working, trip the breaker back. It's located in downstairs bedroom. Also, hot water doesn't last for everybody to shower back to back, so we found it best to space them out a little bit.. no big deal. All in all, this was one of the most comfortable, well appointed vrbos we've stayed in and we take a mountain trip and a beach trip yearly. We will definitely be booking this house again! Can't wait!
Host failed to send check-in info through the VRBO as required, was unresponsive to multiple msgs, calls and repeated attempts by VRBO to reach him resulting in late check-in. VRBO was in the process of relocating us to another property when he finally responded at 4:30 pm and said " it wasn't his fault we didn't get his email" sent OUTSIDE of VRBO site.
Front of the property was under rehab so we could not access the front door, concrete forms where blocking the steps and a huge pile of gravel in the parking area.
House was roomy, and well furnished but had many of the same issues mentioned in previous reviews over a year ago.
The ice maker did not work, broken produce drawer, plaster peeling off the ceiling, pots and pans had broken handles, the outdoor furniture was rickety, and so rusted it would stain your clothes. There were scores of nails protruding from the upper deck beams posing a serious safety issue, deck boards were so rotted, you could push your finger through it, the kitchen faucet was impossible to shut off, the popcorn machine did not work, the hot tub would not heat up past 94 degrees, some jets did not work. And while pet friendly, absolutely no place for them to do their business. Completely graveled to the edge of fenced cliffs.
Host has offered no adjustment for these issues, and has ignored our request for refund of our deposit held since March. After over 2 weeks, now says it is refunded but may be another15 days before we get it. NEVER AGAIN!
Property was very clean and well stocked. Beds and bedrooms were very nice and comfortable. Host was quick to reply on restaurants and grocery stores nearby. We were in town to ride the rails tour in Andrews, NC
The views were absolutely breathtaking. The house was beautiful and well stocked. Some things were not exactly like the pictures, but not that big of a deal. We would absolutely go again
We just had the most wonderful friends-and-family stay here! My "co-organizer" (AKA my bestie :) ) was worried that there wasn't going to be enough room for everyone, but holy cow - the photos don't do this home justice. It was perfect for having most of the older adults upstairs and the teens/young adults downstairs.
The perks and the quirks:
Quirks first - be aware that the oven/range sometimes trips the breaker. It happened on our first day, and we had to reach out to find out where the panel was to reset it! Also, the power went out on day 2...for the whole neighborhood...and the folks who had to leave at 6:30AM to pick up guests at the airport had to MacGyver the gated entry to get out! (Lucky for us, one of them is a handyman by trade. :) ) Finally, be aware that the drive up is VERY STEEP and one-lane. It's easy to miss a sign in the dark, but you'll survive. :D
And the perks:
*Hot tub? Immaculate. Very spacious, toasty, lighted, and jetted. 12/10
*Everywhere you look, there's something that goes above and beyond. Porch hammock? Check. Tons of board games and puzzles? Check. Fuzzy blankets in the bench in the entryway? Check. Grill? Check. Fire ring for s'mores... WITH sticks? Check. And don't forget the fireplace...remote-controlled!
*The view? EXCEPTIONAL. What a joy to wash dishes and look out on the mountains, or to catch a spectacular sunset every night.
We couldn't have picked a better place to stay! Thank you. <3
This home atop a steep hill oversees a very beautiful landscape with hills and valleys and is very secluded. The view is outstanding, and the privacy is great. A great deal to do with the game room having a pool table, card table and air hockey. We enjoyed the hot tub and the fire pit as well. I would highly recommend this home for your next vacation.
Our group of adult ladies stayed here for a local retreat and felt totally pampered and comfortable. The hosts had thought of everything we may need and all conveniently located and labeled. House was ready to go, including the hot tub. We'll definitley look to book this again next year!
Property is well maintained with great views of the mountains. Kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils. Hot tub was in good condition with tremendous views. The drive up to the house was a little steep, but doable and with it. Make sure to eat at The Farmhouse just a few minutes away. Within driving distance to Tail of the Dragon and Blueridge Parkway.
We came for a long weekend to step away from the hustle and bustle. Started with a beautiful drive in a very quiet neighborhood. We arrive to Harry's
beautiful home, lots of space for large families, had plenty of amenities and had something for everyone. We enjoyed the fire pit, game room, hot tub and watching the sun set from the porch. Service for phones and wifi were spotty but it was what we wanted. 10-15 mins into town if you need anything. This home will be on the list to stay at again. If you are thinking about booking, just do it.
This was an absolutely amazing home! We all loved our stay, there is something for everyone here. The kids had a great time in the game room, the kitchen had everything we needed and so much more, the views are spectacular, and the location was awesome! We will definitely come back!!!
The house was spotless. This was our 2nd time staying. The house is so comfortable especially for a large family. New jacuzzi and fire pit area. Communications with owner was spectacular. We watch the leaves change colors sitting on the deck. The house had everything you could think of from dishes, pots and games. I just love this house. We will be back.
