Benaiah's Bunkhouse Fort Austin
Ladies and Gentlemen Serving Ladies and Gentlemen. Come sit a spell. Soak in the incredible views from this quaint log cabin in the heart of Paonia's Wine Country. Is only a mile from town and offers very easy highway access. Peaceful and relaxing farm setting. Digital nomads have found their place in the valley. Even though the host is a technotard, he provides a 2G/5G WIFI system that provides minimum download and upload speeds in the 50mbps range.
Benaiah's Bunkhouse is a beautiful rustic log cabin built with western charm and designer touches. It features a king bed, leather furniture and a cowhide rug. It is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave oven, coffee maker, swamp cooler and radiant heater. The mountain views are spectacular! A few steps away guests will find two full-service bathrooms in an old Butler grain bin. This bath house is one of a kind. The bathrooms are cleaned almost daily and kept in immaculate condition by our cleaning contractor. It just might remind you of youth camp, without the dirty socks
Guests are invited to join the host on the huge log porch for coffee in the morning, beer in the evening or a cigar for a night cap. The pavilion deck is quickly becoming the favorite spot for guest to hang out in the evening. The community fire pit is fit with a permanent porch swing, adirondack chairs and plenty of space for guests to gather.
The host lives on site in the main lodge. He is often free to enjoy a cigar, beer or cognac with guests. But guests get to choose, to a large degree, if, or how much they interact. Guests who want peace and quiet solitude are free to do their own thing. Guests who enjoy great conversation, great stories, and a myriad of laughs are invited to hang out on the porch or pavilion deck.
Fort Austin is the perfect open-air small venue for events. The pavilion, binzebo food service kiosk, bath house, fire pit ample parking, cabins, glamping tents, and deluxe apartments provide overnight accommodations for up to 18 people. Located in the heart of Paonia's wine country, vineyard tours, hiking, biking, national forests, fishing, hunting, sightseeing, SUPaddle boarding, U-pick fruit orchards, are but a few local destinations. HOUSE RULES Quiet Hours: 9pm – 9am No loud parties, or disturbing noise. Smoking: Outside only Fire: No open flames inside apartments, cabins, tents, or buildings. Guests must follow state regulations on outside fire restrictions. Don’t leave campfires unattended Events: Events are allowed. Must have prior approval of the Host for an event. Food: Please don’t leave unpackaged food in cabins or common areas. Store food, cookware, and utensils out of reach of wildlife. Please don’t cook on redwood deck, a picnic table is provided Dishes: Please wash dishes in commercial sink in binzebo, not in bathroom Do not dump grease in sinks, toilets, or shower drains. Neighbors: Please respect our neighbors, No climbing on rock wall or fences. Storage: Don’t leave personal items stored outside of suites or cabin. Night Sky: Paonia is a dark sky community, please use outside light sparingly. Children: You must be at least 25 years old to book at Fort Austin Children must be supervised at all times. (this facility is not childproof) Hazards: Fort Austin is a working farm/orchard. You are participating in an agri-tourism/farm experience. Allergens, smoke, dust, stinging insects, reptiles, waste water, unfriendly animals, livestock, noises, odors, stairs, uneven ground, equipment, and other irritants may be present at any time. You must always remain aware of your surroundings. Parking: Please park in designated areas. Illegal Drugs: Use of illegal drugs is not allowed. Alcohol: Public intoxication, damage and disorderly conduct will not be tolerated.
PETS Fees: Pet fee $50 per pet. Friendly Pets: Maximum of 2 pets per guest. Friendly, obedient, well-trained pets are welcome at Fort Austin. Aggressive pets, wolf hybrids, pit bulls, German shepherds, Dobermans and Rottweilers are not allowed per our Insurance Company. Do not leave pets unattended on property while you are away, for any reason. No pets over 70lbs. Keep pets on leash and under control at all times. Do not allow pets to chase or kill chickens. No pets on furniture. Additional cleaning fees will be charged. Clean up after your pets. A pet station is located by the Grainbinzebo. Kennel: Please call C-Bar-K kennel in Hotchkiss for temporary pet housing. Service dogs: Service animals are welcome and free of charge if you present a copy of certification paperwork for our records. Cats: Cats that pose risk of scratching or spraying must be kenneled at all times.
