Beautiful house. Lots of room. Kitchen well stocked. Host was very communicative. Lake was awesome. Loved having Kayan and paddle boards. Little kids loved pool and hot tub. Older kids loved the theater room and boat we rented.
This home is amazing! It was perfect for our family and another for a long weekend. We enjoyed playing games inside - it has video games downstairs, a media room and an indoor pool - and the lake was beautiful! Thank you so much! Highly recommend.
This was the perfect place for a small college group reunion! The host was incredibly responsive to any questions I had! The place was stunning and we enjoyed simply spending time together! 10/10 recommend!

We were delighted to host you. It is great to hear you all enjoyed spending quality time together… that’s what is all about.
Everything was great my only complaint is the road coming in was so sandy and dusty it really covered our veichles but not a negative mark on the cabin it self.
This was 100% a dream property to vacation at. The view was second to none and our host was easily accessible and willing to do whatever they could to make our trip perfect. Fishing at the dock was amazing. Multiple species of fish and if you get too hot you can jump in the lake for a quick dip or enjoy the Kayak or paddleboards. We have been on luxury cruises, beach resorts, and this one is at the top of our list! We are already talking about booking for next year! This is the perfect place for beautiful nature and relaxing time with the family. 5 stars for everything!!!!!
We had an amazing week at the cabin! The view is absolutely stunning! Having my morning coffee on the balcony was so peaceful. It accommodated our large group perfectly. We enjoyed the hot tub and movie room very much. Amy was very responsive and Checked in on us frequently to ensure all was going well. Overall it was a memorable and worthwhile trip for us! Would highly recommend!
We had the most amazing week staying at the Velvet Monkey. Check in was smooth, the host was super responsive, and the property itself was wonderful for our party of 11. The views, accommodations, and location make this spot top notch. I would absolutely recommend staying here! It’s a bit of a drive if you want to go do activities, but well worth it. Honestly, we could’ve just spent more downtime at the house because the lake was great, but our kids wanted to experience more of the area.Things we did over the week:-UTV riding through the Smoky Mtns-Moonshine Mtn Coaster at night-Hillbilly Golf-Boat and tube rental-Jetski rental-Dinner and shopping in gatlinburg -DollywoodWe didn’t get to see any bears unfortunately, but we saw both a male and female elk while on our UTV ride which doesn’t usually happen. This trip was one of our favorites! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful place with our family!
Beautiful views! The house is so spacious! Bathrooms in every room! It has everything you need for a great vacation or family reunion! Host was very responsive. Would highly recommend!!
This place is simply amazing. The owners are fabulous to work with. The house is beautiful and well stocked. The beds are very comfortable. Having the indoor pool was wonderful! Would highly recommend this place. Be sure to catch the sunrise and sunsets..they are beautiful!
The house was able to comfortably sleep our family of 14, including 5 teenagers. Everyone had a bed to sleep on and each bedroom had its own bathroom making it so a bathroom was always available. After tubing and boating on the lake the kids were buoyed swimming in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub. Able to go fishing right off the dock and caught some bass and catfish. Paddle boarding and kayaking were a hit as well. Home was perfectly decorated and clean. The entire family had a blast and would absolutely consider coming back for another vacation!

I am so pleased that you and your family enjoyed your stay at The Velvet Monkey Retreat. I hope that you can return to enjoy it again in the future.
Beautiful home. It is an amazing house! First thing you notice is how clean it is. The views are incredible, even in the winter. We were a little disappointed about the lake being so low. It just makes us want to come back in the summer. With six children ages from 8 to 19 they all loved the house and the wonderful activities provided in the house. The old school video games and foosball kept the parents and Grandparents as well as the kids very entertained. The indoor pool and hot tub were a raging success. The theatre room was so comfortable. Everyone of us used all the rooms. We enjoyed a game night on the second level. We used the bbq. The fire pit. The only thing is be prepared to walk up and down a lot of steps. Also and most importantly the hosts were very available for all my questions. We highly recommend this Amazing house in Tennessee.
Relaxing Lake Getaway with All the Comforts of Home
We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful new lake home. The house is tastefully decorated and feels like a luxury retreat. It comfortably sleeps 12, making it a perfect for a family getaway. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials for cooking, including pots, pans, utensils, a coffee maker, an InstaPot, etc. We shopped locally to prepare our meals. Thoughtful touches like hand soaps, room sprays, plush towels, and super comfortable beds and linens made it feel extra special. The private dock was perfect for our pontoon and two large floats that seated six people each, making our time on the water very enjoyable. We also had a lot of fun using the provided kayak and two paddle boards, which were a great bonus for exploring the lake.We truly enjoyed the theater, arcade room, and indoor pool. Every amenity was used and appreciated. The Blackstone grill was also a great feature that made outdoor cooking easy.A couple of things to keep in mind for future guests: the roads leading to the property are narrow, steep, and winding, so be prepared if you are not used to mountain driving. My recommendation is not to pull a boat trailer to the house. You cannot launch from the property, and maneuvering a trailer on the roads leading to the house is difficult. Instead, plan to launch your boat at a nearby public dock and leave the trailer parked there for your stay.Overall, we loved our stay and would absolutely come back. Highly recommend!
