Updated lake front 7 bdrm 5 bath home with views of the lake, Mtns, Marina
Imagine waking up to the soft morning light reflecting off Douglas Lake, the water stretching out before you with the three highest peaks of the Appalachian Trail rising quietly in the distance. You step out onto the deck with your first cup of coffee, and the only sounds are birdsong and the gentle lapping of the water at the edge of the backyard below. This is how a day at Mariner’s View begins. Nestled along the Main Channel and situated right next door to our sister property, Stone’s View (VRBO #572667), Mariner’s View offers a setting that feels tucked away from the world — yet everything you need is just minutes from the front door. Downtown’s main street is a short 125-yard stroll away, the grocery store is half a mile up the road, and the marina and public boat ramp are less than a quarter mile away. It’s the kind of location where you never feel rushed or far from anything, yet the peace and privacy of the property make it easy to forget the outside world exists at all. For larger groups, the two properties together offer a combined 14-bedroom experience sleeping up to 34 guests — ideal for family reunions, milestone celebrations, or corporate retreats where everyone stays under one roof and no one misses a moment together. Step inside and you’ll find a home that balances the warmth of its 1930s origins with every modern comfort you could want. Original charm and character flow throughout, complemented by professional décor and thoughtful luxury upgrades that make the space feel both special and genuinely livable. Three spacious gathering areas give everyone room to connect — or find a quiet corner. Two fully equipped kitchens, each with a range and refrigerator, mean that cooking for a crowd becomes part of the fun rather than a logistical hurdle. Seven bedrooms sleep up to 17 guests comfortably, with two private master suites offering an extra layer of luxury for those who want it. Five full bathrooms and a half bath ensure mornings run smoothly, no matter how many guests are under the roof. When the day calls for the outdoors, you’ll find yourself drawn again and again to the 1,200 square foot patio — 520 square feet of it covered for shade and comfort — and the sweeping 550 square foot deck off the main living area. Picture long dinners outside as the sun dips behind the mountains, children playing in the yard that slopes down to the lake, and evenings that stretch on because no one quite wants the day to end. And then there are the unexpected moments — the ones that become the stories you tell long after you’ve returned home. A great blue heron landing at the water’s edge. Deer moving silently through the yard at dusk. The unmistakable sight of a bald eagle, wide-winged and unhurried, drifting over the lake from its nearby nest. That’s the true gift of Mariner’s View. Come and experience it for yourself.

Beautiful house with an excellent view of Douglas Lake. Perfect spot to stay with easy access to and from outside of the busy and tourist parts of the area.
We stayed here with 15 family members and had plenty of room for everyone. View is to die for and Dandridge is a great little town close to many activities.
Great family trip. Easy access, incredibly clean and spacious. Great to be in town and on the water. Enough rooms and bathrooms for the whole family. We cooked dinners for 12 every night. Second fridge, oven and kitchen were very helpful for prep.
We loved our stay here. So much room to hang out with a big group, and a great location accessible to GSMNP and Knoxville, as well as Douglas lake. We hope to return!
We had a great time and the property worked out great for our family vacation. The view from the decks across the lake, access to the lake for fishing and boating was awesome. The owner was very pleasant and helpful upon check in.
Beautiful home and accommodated a family of 8
Close proximity to cute downtown Dandridge. Beautiful mountain and lake views! We loved our stay - thank you
The house is amazing, easy check-in, owners are very responsive! Perfect place to spend the week with family. Wonderful views and location, we had a great time! Everything we wanted to do was close by, but you feel so secluded when you are at the house.
The house was better than we expected and The Maples are wonderful hosts. We had a great time and definitely recommend this house to anyone interested.
The property was amazing. The house is large for a group gathering. We enjoy the Canadian geese flying over every morning, seeing the boats out on the lake. Downtown is historic and sweet, we went to many of the little places and saw some of the historic sites.
The house was very nice, with room for our family of 10 adults and 5 kids. Each family had their own sleeping area which is hard to find.Anything we needed for meal prep was right on hand. Activites for all were close by if we wanted to do something besides relax and enjoy the view.Would recommend this house to anyone.
The house was beautiful & clean! Great location for spending time on the lake. We rented a boat, went to Dollywood and hit a lot of the tourist stuff in Pigeon Forge/Sevierville. Returned every night to this wonderful house that the adults and teen-agers as well loved. Everyone had some space to relax and enjoy themselves! 10/10 will be visiting again!
We had 13 family members for our vacation and had plenty of space and bathrooms. The view is amazing and the house was the cleanest VRBO home we’ve ever rented. The kitchen was well stocked. The local people were very friendly. We spent a day in near-by Pigeon Forge but otherwise enjoyed the house and lake. We usually don’t stay in the same place twice for vacation but we are already considering staying here again next year!
Beautiful house with beautiful view, plenty of room
The house is gorgeous, had plenty of room for our group of 5 couples for a family reunion, and the owner was fantastic with communicating. We only had one small issue with outdoor grill that was quite dirty, but we notified the owner, who said it would be addressed, Everything else though, exceeded our expectations.
I booked this beautiful home for our annual girls trip and all 13 women had nothing negative to say. The house is very spacious and beautifully decorated. We only had a couple of minor issues and the owner responded quickly. We loved the fact that there no bunk beds and everyone had a comfortable bed.
The view of the lake was amazing with the mountains in the distance.
We had group of 13. The property is well maintained, the kitchen was stocked with great selection of pots, pans, dishes, spices!
We only had a couple of questions, which were answered by the owner quickly.
Kent, our host is great! He is responsive and welcoming. Ours stay was wonderful. The view is fantastic! The house is well appointed and the decor is beautiful. We love to cook together as a family and the kitchen at this location is great. Easy for multiple people to work in at the same time. We travel to Tennessee as a family at least once a year and will definitely rebook this property again!
We have a group of guys who go on a couple of golf trips a year. This fall we found this GREAT house in Dandridge. It's only minutes from everything. The house is newly remodeled and is beautiful inside and out! We had nine adults and had plenty of beds and room for everyone. Kent is a great host and met us at the house to give us some tips on where to eat in the area. He was right on in his picks and we enjoyed eating at everyone he suggested. There is a large deck out back on the lower level that overlooks the lake, where we spent our afternoons looking at the boats and wildlife. We really enjoyed our stay and are already looking forward to coming back again.

This property is ideal for anyone that wants beautiful views that is conveniently located near to a super cute small downtown with easy access to sites like Dollywood, Gatlinburg, great Smokey mountain national park and more. Additionally, the home is split into an up and down stairs with kitchens on both levels making it especially well suited for 2 or more families that want to be together but still have their area they can retreat to when they have had too much togetherness. Alternatively, you can reserve the upstairs for quieter folks and downstairs to the more ‘youthful sorts’Only very minor negative is that the property photos lead me to believe there was a dock in the property. You can go to a public dock that is close to the property but it is not actually on the property itself. Still would recommend 10/10 to others.

About the host
Hosted by Kent Maples
Our family has deep roots in East Tennessee. This isn’t a property we manage from a distance or stumbled upon as a distant investment opportunity. We live just 20 minutes away, and this corner of the world — the lake, the mountains, the unhurried pace of life in Dandridge — is the landscape we’ve always called home. We know these roads, these sunsets, and these seasons the way only locals can, and that personal connection informs everything about the way we care for this property and the guests who stay here. Because we’re so close, we’re not absentee hosts. We visit often — sometimes to handle the details that keep the property in top shape, and sometimes simply because we love being there. Staying regularly keeps us attuned to the guest experience in a meaningful way. We notice what’s working, what could be better, and what small touches might make a stay feel more comfortable or more memorable. We’re always looking for ways to upgrade furnishings, modernize amenities, and add thoughtful conveniences that enhance the overall experience. We want every guest who walks through the door to feel that the space has been prepared with real care and intention — not simply maintained to a minimum standard. From the kitchen cookware to the outdoor living areas, we’re committed to making Mariner’s View the best it can be, every single season. We also understand that choosing a vacation rental is an act of trust. You’re not booking a hotel room with a predictable checklist of features — you’re choosing to spend meaningful time in someone else’s home, and that deserves to be honored. Our goal has always been for guests to arrive and feel immediately at ease, as though the home was prepared just for them. So from our family to yours, we extend a warm and heartfelt invitation. Come stay, relax, and make memories in a home that has been loved, cared for, and prepared with you in mind. We hope Mariner’s View feels less like a rental and more like a home away from home.
Why they chose this property
Dandridge is small-town America at its finest — a place with a proud and distinctive history that its residents wear with genuine care and work hard to preserve. There’s a warmth and authenticity here that’s increasingly rare, and it’s one of the things our family loves most about calling this corner of Tennessee home. My wife and I are walkers by nature, and Dandridge is a wonderful place to explore on foot. Every stroll through the neighborhood reveals something worth pausing for — a beautifully preserved piece of architecture, a friendly face on a front porch, or a glimpse of the lake catching the afternoon light just right. The town has a way of rewarding those who slow down and pay attention, and we never run out of things to appreciate. And then there’s Douglas Lake itself — a constant, breathtaking presence that never loses its ability to stop us in our tracks. Whether the water is glass-calm at sunrise or shimmering under a late afternoon sun, the natural beauty of this lake is simply humbling. For guests who love the water, the location couldn’t be more convenient. Two full-service marinas are located within just 1.5 miles of the property, offering a wonderful variety of boat rentals and water recreation equipment — everything you need to get out on the lake and make the most of your time here, no prior planning required. Whether you’re interested in a leisurely pontoon cruise, a fishing outing, or something with a little more excitement, the options are readily available and close at hand. For those who prefer to bring their own watercraft, the public dock and boat ramp is less than a mile away, making it effortless to launch and spend the day exactly as you please. Whether you’re an avid boater, a casual walker, a history enthusiast, or simply someone looking for a place that feels genuine and unhurried, Dandridge is the kind of town that feels like a discovery, and we love sharing it with our guests!
