Lovely build-out, thoughtful details all around the house. Beautiful spot! Appliances feel quite outdated though, and many dishes in the cabinets were dirty.

Family stay for HITS on the Hudson

We traveled to the top of the world with our stay at the tree house! If we hadn’t checked in for the weekend for a horse show, we would have been engrossed in nature at this serene getaway. The property was impeccable. The exterior gardens were gorgeous and we saw lots of wildlife. Thank you for allowing our family to stay in your unique home for the weekend.

A garden in the Catskills

This is a lovely and private home in the Catskills surrounded by an impressively maintained garden in the Catskills. The house is well-situated near several hiking trails--Huckleberry Point, for example, is less than 5 minutes away by car--and it is also less than an hour to get to either Woodstock to the south or Hudson to the northeast. The owner was responsive and clearly cares deeply about the house, which he designed and built. We would definitely rent again.

Stayed here for a weekend to see the fall colors with my adult children and 16 month old granddaughter. We hiked some nearby trails (codfish point?). And visited Kingston’s Saturday morning market… very nice! Spent a lot of time enjoying the gardens and sitting around a bonfire in the evening. The house is spectacular with all the windows bringing the outdoors indoors, although noise does carry in this house so once granddaughter was up in the morning, all were up in the morning, lol!Kitchen is very well stocked for preparing meals, a good selection of spices so you don’t have to bring all of that with you. A few different outdoor seating spaces to choose from, all with comfortable seating.Adam was a great communicator, check-in was easy. And all around great experience. I would stay here again in a minute.Thank you for sharing your home with us Adam.

Fantastic stay

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful home in Elka Park. The house is tucked away in a very private and peaceful setting—perfect for a relaxing week with our two young kids. The owner, an architect, clearly poured so much love and thought into designing the space. Every detail felt intentional, warm, and welcoming. The home was spotless and exactly as described, with clear instructions that made everything seamless from start to finish. We especially loved cozying up by the fireplace and exploring the gorgeous grounds. Gabriel was very communicative and helped us with our questions.Location-wise, it's ideal—just a short drive (under 10 minutes) to several fantastic hikes, making it easy to get outdoors and enjoy the area’s natural beauty. We would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!

I’m a Colombian architect, and together with my wife from Los Angeles, we designed and built this home from the ground up. Every detail reflects our love for nature, sustainability, and thoughtful design.
We kept the footprint intentional, focusing on quality materials, comfort, and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape. The art, books, and furnishings throughout the home are personal selections that make the space feel lived-in and authentic.
As your host, I’m available if you need anything, from local recommendations to help during your stay, but we also respect your privacy so you can fully unwind.
Our goal is simple: for your time here to feel not just comfortable, but memorable, more than a place to stay, a true Catskills experience.

Why they chose this property

Elka Park is set in the heart of the Catskills, surrounded by protected State Forest, quiet, scenic, and immersed in nature, yet close to everything you need.
Hunter Mountain is just 15 minutes away, offering year-round activities including skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. The town of Woodstock, about 30 minutes away, is known for its galleries, restaurants, and live music.
Located under 2.5 hours from New York City, the home is an easy escape from the city without a long drive.
The area is ideal for guests who want to enjoy the outdoors while still having access to culture, dining, and small-town charm—a balance that makes this part of the Catskills truly special.

What makes this property unique

Most vacation homes offer a place to stay. This one is designed to offer a more thoughtful and memorable experience.
The home was architect-designed with sustainability in mind, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass, a wood-burning fireplace, and outdoor spaces that seamlessly connect with the surrounding forest.
The grounds include a zen garden, wildflower meadows, a fire pit, and a tucked-away forest lounge linked by softly lit stone paths.
Inside, the layout is designed for both comfort and privacy. The home sleeps up to 8 guests across 5 distinct bedrooms, making it ideal for families or groups who want space to gather without feeling crowded. It’s also pet-friendly and includes a dedicated workspace for remote work.
What truly sets it apart is the level of care behind every detail, from the materials to the furnishings, creating a space that feels intentional, personal, and different from a typical rental.
