We sat on the deck for hours and deer walked just below us several times.

Thank you for noting how our home is still "full of nature"! It is beautiful to see the deer, I recently had a "conversation" with a deer, and it came back the next day! Contact with wild creatures is awe inspiring.
Such a charming, cozy log cabin—and incredibly clean! It feels perfectly secluded while still being close to everything. The host provided great information, and I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next visit.
It looks like the photos. The kitchen is well equipped. The host automatically accepts right away when the dates are available. This host is very nice and provides a lot of helpful info. It is close to the hot springs yet in a neighborhood where the houses have large yards and are far apart. There are stairs from the garage and in front plus there is no upstairs bathroom so that is something to consider for those with mobility issues.

Thank you for your thoughtful review.
I will make sure that your points are noted in the description, stairs can be an issue.
Thank you for your helpful messages as well!
Wonderful home, well appointed. Really enjoyed the nostalgic feel and design. Beautiful location. Wildlife around the property. Enjoyed spending mornings and evenings on the deck. Very relaxing time.

The house and views were beautiful! The electricity was a little slow.It would’ve been preferable if the upstairs bedroom had a bathroom upstairs as well.

Thank you for reviewing our home. Yes, a bathroom upstairs would be convenient, but it is just a 30 second walk down the stairs. We couldn't fit it in upstairs without compromising the space of the room. We designed and custom built our home.
We truly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. It was very spacious and comfortable. It was REALLY nice having a garage in which to park our car. The deck was wonderful for enjoying the scenery and wildlife. This is a very peaceful place to stay and unwind, while still being very close to shopping and restaurants. Christy was very quick in responding to any questions or inquiries. The next time we're in Pagosa Springs, we'll certainly try to stay here!
This is a very beautiful house with breathtaking views! We really enjoyed staying here for part of our vacation. It was super easy to get in and we had no problems. It was such a bonus to be able to park our car in a garage. We had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend for others. 1 thing to note is there are extra fees if you wish to use the fireplace and grill. Please note I'm new to using VRBO so its possible maybe I missed it. I just saw the part where it said "no hidden fees" so I did not continue to look and see if anything was extra. But definitely a nice place to stay and easy to get to! And again, the views are just amazing!
Great place to stay for a mountain getaway. The view is amazing. The cabin is clean with plenty of space. I misunderstood the listing and thought there was central AC, there is not, but for the most part the mountain air cools the place off pretty well. We were there mid June and were pretty comfortable. If you're lucky the local deer family will come visit. Close to town and easy to get to. Would rent again.
We were very pleased that Jaquetta and family chose our home for their stay, the communications were excellent. Thank you Jaquetta, we look forward to having you stay again.
This is our family home and we treasure it. Our parents first settled in Pagosa in the 70s. Our home in Pagosa is a peaceful place holding wonderful memories and we relish our time there at home. I am frequently out of the US as my work took me abroad and I spend a great deal of time in Europe.
Why they chose this property
This location was chosen by my mother to nestle our custom built home among the pine trees but allowing good views of the mountains in a location that is convenient to town while still feeling immersed in nature with no houses too close by affording privacy.
What makes this property unique
This is a custom built home decorated with original art and furnished in western style with a unique old fashioned creative touch. You will feel peaceful here, as we do!
