We’re sorry your experience was affected by a regional power outage, which unfortunately impacted many homes in the area and was beyond our control. As outlined in the house rules and rental agreement, we cannot be held responsible for utility outages. That said, we provided a full night’s refund as a gesture of goodwill, even though we were not required to do so. To support guests in situations like this, we also stock the home with gallons of emergency water and provided cooler for ice storage to help preserve food when power goes out. After your departure, we discovered a visible burn mark on the kitchen countertop that was not present prior to your stay. The damage was professionally evaluated, and we submitted a claim for only a portion of the total repair cost to be fair. Addition damage to the kitchen table was identified and will need to be repaired. Damages to surfaces from misuse can be avoided. Normal wear or tear, and small incidental damages, such as a broken glass is not a concern. We encourage all guests to review the house rules and rental agreement carefully before booking to understand policies around outages and damage.
