Our week was nothing more than perfection!Myself and my 3, early 20 year old, sons came for an end of summer retreat before 2 head back to college. All 3 spent the week either in the water, on the trampoline or in the kayaks, SUP or canoe all on site. The sunrise with coffee was exactly what I needed!Mornings and evenings were peaceful and quiet.Though we didnt spend much time inside everything was clean and very comfortable. If you are looking to get away from the crowds and need to relax, you wont find a better place to be !!

We had a wonderful stay at the Little Evergreen Cottage on White Lake. The property is perfectly situated right on the water and offers a quintessential Adirondack experience. The cottage is comfortable, thoughtfully maintained, and the swimming and kayaking setup made it easy to enjoy the lake every day.The hosts were exceptionally communicative, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. They’ve stocked the cottage with just about everything you could need—from a well-equipped kitchen to laundry supplies and other thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home.This was exactly the relaxing Adirondack getaway we were looking for. We’d happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful lakeside escape.

Wow! Thank you so much for the most relaxing and enjoyable week. The pictures don't do this house justice. This is a beautiful escape. The house was well furnished with appliances, dinnerware, bedding and towels. It had a feeling of home, without being home. The breathing taking views of white lake from the porch were a great place to drink coffee and watch the sunrise each morning and sip bourbon and watch the sunset each evening. All the extra amenities helped make the stay that much better; from the fun and laughs bouncing on the water trampoline to the relaxing kayaks around White Lake. The beds were very comfortable for a great night sleep. The communications with the owners prior to our trip were excellent and they quickly answered any questions we had. We will definitely be back to unplug, unwind and enjoy this beautiful cottage.

A dream on White Lake

My family and I greatly enjoyed our time here. The house is situated right on the water making fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing super easy. We could (and did) just jump in the water or a boat and take off. Especially fun to find the family of Loons on the lake. The house itself is also great. Everything is basically new. One bedroom down with a loft that has a couple of twin beds and a queen. Twins are in nooks with privacy curtains my kids loved. Awesome screened in porch over the water. Spent tons of time in the porch chairs. The house is also conveniently located (1/4 mile off the main road) with dedicated parking. Within 15 minutes of Old Forge and Boonville (loved the Mercer’s ice cream place there). Closest real grocery is Boonville, so just plan accordingly. Overall, we just loved the lake and house. Highly recommend.

Writing a review of the Little Evergreen Cottage is a bit like writing a review of your favorite fishing spot. You love everything about it and find it to be a magical place where you can slow down, breathe deeply, and fall into deep communion with nature. Because it is so special it is also hard to share! This is a camp meant to be discovered like a gem that has been hidden away, and to be cherished by all who visit.This very special Adirondack Camp has been lovingly restored and is in pristine condition. It is a true boathouse camp that is nestled onto the shore of White Lake, one of the few spring-fed and invasive species-free lakes in the Adirondacks. The pristine waters of the lake are stocked with Rainbow, Brown and Speckled trout and provides beautiful boating and swimming opportunities. The lake is always home to at least one pair of loons that can be seen fishing throughout the day and heard calling to each other in the evenings. Hearing the pair call to each other is equally beautiful and haunting. Little Evergreen Cottage holds all of the charm of a camp that was built over a century ago while boasting updated luxuries such as organic mattresses, new pine flooring and a large, screened porch that literally lets you sit over the lake. Staying at the camp is to step back in time while bringing the best of today's world with you! A true place for the soul. The owners are absolutely charming and are dedicated to caring for both the lake and the cottage.

When we first fell in love with this place, it was that same feeling you described, the sense that you could slow down, take a deep breath, listen to the loons calling across the water, and simply be present. There is something about White Lake that is difficult to put into words. It has a peacefulness and a magic that you can feel the moment you arrive. We also loved your comparison to a favorite fishing spot that you almost don’t want to share. 😊 We completely understand! Little Evergreen Cottage feels like one of those rare places that has somehow managed to hold onto the past while giving you the opportunity to enjoy the present. We feel incredibly fortunate to now be its caretakers and to continue the legacy of the families who loved this camp before us. Our hope is that everyone who stays here feels what you described, a chance to disconnect from the noise of everyday life, reconnect with nature and the people you love, and leave with memories that stay with you long after you’ve gone home.
