This 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage is one of 3 on this large wooded property. It is decorated with a cabin themed color and decor. This cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed, the other has a full size bed. The full kitchen is well equipped to cook all your meals. In the living room is tv/cable, books, games, and internet. The bathroom is small with a small shower (no tub). In 2021 a screened front porch was added with a dining space and a lounging area. Outdoors is a flagstone patio with a firepit for those evening marshmallows and s'mores. And there is room in the yard for kids to play while you relax in the hammock. All of this just a few blocks from town and the Straights. You can walk to the waterfront, restaurants, shopping, ferries to the Mackinac Island, and live music. Short trips by car are to Petoskey, Wilderness State Park, Tunnel of Trees, and the UP (Oswald's Bear Ranch, Whitefish Point, Tahquemenon Falls, Sault Ste. Marie). Also, just minutes away is the Headlands with its Dark Sky Park- a great place to watch meteor showers. Families with young children or teens, couples, and business travelers would all enjoy a stay here.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Cedar Cabin. The cabin was well stocked, clean and pleasantly decorated. The location is close to downtown shopping/restaurants as well as the park by the bridge. Our only issue were the beds were rather firm for our liking. and they are in need of some sharp knives for food prep/steak knives. I wouldn't recommend for 4 adults. Perfect for my husband and I.

Nice cabin as a base camp to several fall adventures

We enjoyed this location for it's proximity to both traverse City and UP locations that we planned to see on our trip. The ability to have a camp fire, see the bridge and a rare chance to see the northern lights on our trip made our stay above and beyond.

Cozy Spot to Relax

The house has an amazing screened-in porch and fire pit, where we spent most of our time. We did not drive over 10 minutes the entire trip as we went to stores, gas stations, public beaches, and to a pool. The house is small, but perfect for 2 couples. I recommend!!

Perfect Location!

Cute and cozy cabin located within walking distance of downtown Mackinaw City. Close to all of the shops, many restaurants, and Fort michilimackinac. Comfy bed, kitchen perfect for cooking breakfast, and a nice living room to relax in. Highly recommend!

Cedar cottage awesome

We have stayed here two years in a row and it doesn’t disappoint. Clean, nice area, small but we ware on the go a lot too. To cold and nasty May flies for a fire. Will not stay in May again, but will definitely be back. My daughter and I enjoy this cabin.

Quiet Neighborhood in Mackinaw City

The 'Cedar' sits off the busy streets in a relatively quiet neighborhood. 'The Macatawa' is adjacent if you have a larger family and wish to book two places simultaneously. If you are not one to stay in those busy hotels/motels, then the 'Cedar' will suit perfectly.. We stayed here once before(2014) and the cabin has undergone changes since then to improve the offered amenities. The hosts are great people. I highly recommend a stay here.

Cute and cozy

What a delightful little cottage! Perfect for my husband and me. This abandoned and neglected structure was given a new lease on life by Jacki and Todd with a charmingly designed and skillfully executed renovation. It was love at first sight and we hope to stay again the next time we're up this way. I'd give this property (and its owners)10 stars if I could!

Cottage was just right!

If these cottage walls could talk... so much love and thought when into this place! Beautiful story (the owners left a book of their renovation process). We felt very blessed to be able to stay here. The screened in porch is the best - from early morning coffee, to late night hangouts. The cottage was comfortable, clean and well taken care of. Had everything we needed and more. Great location - we spent most of our time on the island and couldn't be happier with how close it was to the docks. This cottage stay really completed our Michigan getaway.

We explored the Upper Peninsula. The northern coast and the southern cost. We went to restaurants and shops in Mackinaw City. The cottage was perfect. Had everything we needed. Cannot say enough great things about our stay at this cute little cottage. We almost had to cancel due to a major medical event, and the host right away was willing to refund our money under the circumstances even though it was less than 30 days prior to arrival. Luckily we were able to go, and we did have to contact the host a couple times and the response was instantaneous. Highly recommend this cute cottage close to everything mackinaw area related

We live 4 hours away downstate and bought this property in 2011 with the goal of renovating all 3 cottages on the property so that we could spend time with our 3 kids and their future spouses/families. Over a period of 22 months we made frequent trips up north to work on our "family retreat center", especially Todd who did the bulk of the work. Its was a fun project to do, and now we enjoy our time there with family when we can. Mackinaw is a where we vacationed each summer when our children were small, so it brings back wonderful memories each time we stay here.

Why they chose this property

We love Mackinaw and the whole area. Its such a fun place to stay and its a great location to be able to visit other favorite place in the northern lower peninsula and the UP. This place keeps us off the beaten path just enough to have peace and quiet, but is a quick walk to town also.
