I thought this trip was going to be a great one. We were able to check in early (2:15 CST) after the cleaning crew was in the unit for 3 hours. Keep that time in mind for later in this review. We went into the room and it looked nice. Looks can be deceiving. When I went into the master bathroom, I noticed the seat was broken. Which, since the 3 hours cleaning crew didn't say anything about it, logic dictates they didn't clean the toilet in the 3 hours. Called the maintenance office and reported it. They wanted pictures, which I sent them, claimed they didn't get them. Claimed they text me back at the verified number, not text. Called back and they said it would be the next day before someone could come out. Sure it was a Friday of a Holiday weekend. Next morning around 9:00ish I called and they said it was on the schedule for the day. They ended up showing up around 7:00 PM that night. Next issue 3 lamps were broken when we got there. The lock on the sliding glass door didn't work. And the other big issues, that someone reported in July of this year was the floors. They can't be cleaning them since after showing walking around barefooted my feet were black as coal in about 20 feet. This is a room I would not ever recommend to anyone nor would I recommend using any RealJoy properties. As far as the property goes, the HOA needs to work on cleaning the lazy river nightly. Been to this complex and stayed in about 10 different units so I know what it can be here

The condo was very spacious and loved the view and amenities. The unit was not cleaned properly when we arrived the floors had not been mopped, our 1 year olds legs and feet were black within the first hour after crawling on floor. We didnt get a response until the following morning offering to reclean but we had already gone to buy supplies and recleaned the unit ourselves, which was a pain. I have stayed at many other resorts and stayed at Destin West in the past at a different unit, and have always been able to use the amenities or access the beach on the day of arrival while waiting for check in. When we asked this management company we were told we could try but was hit or miss if they would let us since our armbands were inside the room and we couldn’t get them until 4pm. That seems like such a simple thing to accommodate, and provide bands sooner, I offered to pick bands up from their office etc, but could not. Flight times were limited so we ended up with many hours to kill that day. When we finally could check in at 4:00 there was a repairman inside fixing the AC. We appreciate it being fixed, but just not a great start to our stay between waiting for him to finish and having to go buy supplies and reclean, kind of put a damper on our whole first day. We do love the resort, but won’t stay at this unit again.
