This historic duplex is located in the heart of Portland's most unique neighborhoods. Alberta Arts District, where there is always something unbelievable to look at, like people riding bikes while juggling. Amazing restaurants to eat at, it's home to Portland's culinary creativity. Fun pubs to have a drink, locally brewed beers won't disappoint. And loads of independent stores to purchase gifts adorable dresses and funky jewelry, awaits you. The best part is it's the location you hope to get when book a vacation rental. Walking distance to all on Alberta Street. 15 minutes by car from the airport, 10 minutes by car to downtown Portland. The bus stop is a block away and there is free street parking.

High Gear (the upper level of the duplex) has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. An open living, dining, and kitchen area. The first floor houses 3 of the bedrooms. 2 with queen beds and the third with a bunk bed (double lower and twin above). The first floor also has a full bath with walk in shower. The second floor houses a fourth bedroom, loft area with futon and skylights, and a gorgeous full bathroom.

The kitchen is fully stocked from coffee grinder to microwave oven to blender. You will be able to cook up a feast and eat in comfort at the wood dining table.

One major perk about renting with us at Shift Vacation Rentals is the coupons our lovely neighbors share with our guests. Frock Boutique, Tin Shed, Mimosa Studios, Eco Vibe Apparel, Imelda's Shoes, Crafty Wonderland & more....You get discounts to all these wonderful places! So eat, drink and shop- all a stroll away and all at a discounted price!

The side yard boasts an exterior ping-pong table, picnic table, propane BBQ, and tree covered sitting area. In the nice weather its a perfect spot to enjoy a meal or let the kids run free!

A well behaved pet is allowed. The pet fee is $175.

The house had been newly gutted and remodeled using sustainable and local materials, and has inspiring touches throughout the house. It promises to be one of the best vacation rentals in all of Portland.

For larger groups, this house can be rented along with low gear the 3 bedroom 1.5 bathroom rental located in the lower section of this duplex.

Property was beautifully located, well cared for and comfortable. It had everything we needed and our kids slept well with minimal noise or outside distractions. Sheets and towels were also comfortable. Would stay here again.

We had a great time! House was beautiful for a friend reunion and great location. Had some confusion with the listing initially with the upper and lower levels being separate, but it was a great spot for us!

Gorgeous Alberta Home

This property was absolutely gorgeous and felt so homey. My family of 7 adults had ample room to relax, have our daily coffee gatherings and even a chat session in the outside garden. The location was a dream; lots of coffee shops, bars, restaurants --- the walkability was 10 out of 10! Would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect location

My friends and I stayed here for our annual girls trip and it was perfect. The property was unique and made for some great photo ops. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, and bars within walking distance of the house and everything else is a short car ride away. The beds were also very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Complete Alberta Arts district experience!

Safe and comfy, this central spot gives you a good home base and makes it easy to not only get around but fully experience all of what the Alberta arts district has to offer. Everyone in my group, young to old, loved something about our stay. The owners were easy to talk to, quick to answer, and very understanding. Would definitely stay again

Just book! Owners are incredible host who care about your comfort and experience. Property is clean, in a great location and is well stocked with everything you need. We visited Portland for my Sisters wedding, Michelle and Klaas’s house was perfect for the gathering. We had a fantastic stay!

Perfect Location for Fun

We had an amazing time and the house was a big part of that. Perfectly located with shops and restaurants right outside your front door yet still private. You can't ask for a better place to stay.

Wonderful location and house

The house is well stocked, modern and comfortable, and plenty of room for our group to spread out. We loved the location as well; right across the street from some of the best coffee and chai in Portland.

Great locaton, beautiful place!

The house was spacious and airy and well suited fior our group of 7. It was close to great restaurants and shops - which made it fun for everyone. Rooms were well appointed, beds were comfortable and the idecor was modern and fun.! We had a great time and wouldn’t hestitate to stay here again.

Stylish, spacious, great location! Hosts have carefully considered the comfort of their guests and made their property one of the best short term rentals I have ever enjoyed. Six adults and two dogs had a great stay.

Adorable place right in the Alberta art district near to one of my favorite sushi spots. Clean property. Lots to do in the area. Safe neighborhood. 4 stars because I wish there was some coffee available in the morning.

My girlfriends and I stayed at this home for four nights last week to celebrate two birthdays. The location is outstanding and the home is well stocked for cooking and hanging out. Myself and my Dutch husband, Klaas, are obsessed with travel, design, nature, hiking, and biking....We have combined all of these things into our vacation rental business. During our travels we constantly note what makes things feel unique and special and then incorporate them into our location. We want our guests to feel super comfortable. We can do this by making sure the kitchen is fully stocked, linens and towels are high quality, internet is high speed, the house is super clean. We also want people to feel that they are in Portland, not just anywhere. We do that by using locally made materials in the construction (tiles, flooring, art work), providing lots of info and books about the area, creating an insiders guide of our favorite places, and we have collaborated with locally owned shops who give discounts to our guests.

Why they chose this property

I think our rental has many unique areas- from a large side yard filled with interesting kids structures to corn hole which is a game that friends can play and enjoy for hours. Inside the house has bike themed interiors from hanging tricycle lights to handle bar coat racks. We wanted the house to be comfortable for guests, so details such as reading lights above the beds were put in every room. We hope you love your stay!
