This location was very peaceful, my family and I enjoyed the pool and the rest of the house. This home was very spacious and allowed for everyone to feel comfortable and not feel confined to one area.

Peace and quiet
My family and I came into town for a family reunion, this location was perfect for us to enjoy time together. The pool was great and fun for all. One person in our group has some mobility issues but was easily able to enjoy the home with the rest of us.

We are so happy you liked it and enjoyed the place. Thank you for staying with us and hope you come back some time!
This home has a lot to offer; lots of room, lots of privacy, and lots of conveniently located stores, restaurants and Memphis tourist attractions. And, it has a pool! Barbara, the owner of the home, was a pleasure to work with. This is one of the top properties I have ever rented through VRBO.
We absolutely loved our stay in Southaven this year. We are from Desoto County and we were visiting family and meeting our new niece. It was the perfect home for our family and Easter. It was clean, we had plenty of towels, there was plenty of parking, and they communicated with us so well (and were exceptionally accommodating). Did I mention how beautiful the home was inside and out? We just loved our stay!

Wonderful home and setting
This home has a lot to offer; lots of room, lots of privacy, and lots of conveniently located stores, restaurants and popular Memphis tourist attractions (Graceland, National Civil Rights Museum, Peabody Hotel and Beale Street). And, there is a pool!
The home's owner, Barbara, was great to work with and was attentive to any questions we had. If you plan to visit this area, we would highly recommend this home.
Everything was wonderful for our Fathers' Day weekend together with our children and grandchildren. No better place to be, than the pool. The house was very accommodating for all ages, and the bedrooms gave each family their privacy. The kitchen was stocked well with seasonings and we all enjoyed cooking together while catching up. The hostess was very sweet, and couldn't ask for a nicer person. This was my first
experience with renting a VRBO, and it was a great experience. Yes, I would recomend this property.

Tired house needs an update
This house is in a great location, but needs a major update. The beds were the most uncomfortable I think I’ve slept on in any VRBO. My daughter and I shared the master and every time I turned over in the middle of the night, the bed was so loud it would wake her up.
In addition, all of the dishes and glasses and silverware are all different patterns and a mix match. The sliding glass doors are very hard to open such that kids couldn’t get in and out by themselves. One of the doors in the master (a folding closet door) literally fell off when we tried to open it.
The worst thing, however, was the pool. This is the whole reason we chose this house. When we arrived, the pool was cloudy and green. I immediately called the property manager who said it had just been cleaned that morning. There is no way it had been cleaned. It was terrible.
They did send someone out who did some chemicals and cleaned, but it took 2 full days for it to really clear up. We were only there 3 days, so it didn’t really clear up until our last night there.
What a disappointment.
If you’re looking for a fun family house, I would pay a little more money to stay someplace that has been updated and maintained better.

Hi Mary, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we sincerely apologize you experienced issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- We're sorry to hear that the pool was not ready for you at check-in. Although we do our best to keep the pool clean, we have had an unusual amount of rain here this summer, and a severe thunderstorm right before your stay, which has caused issues beyond our control
- We recently made the decision to convert this chlorine pool to saltwater to avoid future issues as the chemicals became impossible to regulate properly with so much rainfall
- We provide an array of dishware suitable for large groups, including 12 matching plates in formal and casual styles, as well as a full set of glasses including wine glasses. We've replaced broken glassware and upgraded our pots and pans for guests' convenience
- We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by both the dislodged folding door and the sticking sliding doors during your stay. We have taken immediate action to address these issues by thoroughly cleaning and lubricating the sliding doors. If only we had been made aware of these concerns earlier, we would have gladly organized a quick repair to resolve the problems
- While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort by offering several different types of mattresses, mattress taste is subjective, and we have never received any complaints about this in the past.
- A few years ago, we made the decision to switch to platform-style encased mattresses for hygiene purposes, but after receiving your feedback, we've added more variety by replacing a king and a queen bed.
- We are refreshing the interior paint throughout the entire home and will be complete with all rooms by the end of August
We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!
Had a really amazing time at the house. Secluded with lots of space and an amazing pool. Of note to folks: we had zero problems with bugs and mosquitoes (in August)...as in didn't see or hear a single mosquito our whole trip. The only bugs that were encountered were if you lost a pool toy (oops) in the woods behind the house (cicadas). We LOVED the pool. It has a great deep end (about 8 feet) and a shallow end you can walk into. The grounds have a giant front yard that's well groomed for frisbee/catch and never heard neighbors at all. Kroger and coffee places (Central Coffee) are within a couple miles. And can't resist plugging Central BBQ (ribs and mac!), Cozy Corner (cornish hens!) and Sunrise Memphis (biscuit sandwiches!). The Civil Rights Museum is also awesome. Allow yourselves at least 2 hours. The only note to the owners would be maybe to add some more cups/glassware/etc. We actually bought silverware from Target and left it at the house for others. But seriously that was minor. Super clean house and easy check-in due to the coded door (thanks Wayne!). Highly recommend!
The house was clean and big, it met our needs. The pool was big and fun. The pool did have some trash in it including an aluminum beer cap that could have cut someone’s foot if not found. We did not appreciate having workers there two days in a row unannounced. Check in was not great as I had to call to get the digital code to unlock the door after I was told I would be called. The dishwasher had dirty dishes in it. Other than those small problems, the house was great, it totally met our needs. Great location too. My family and I had a great time.
There were some hiccups in the beginning with Evolve vacation Rental. The manager and owner were wonderful. Jan was very helpful. Was 10 older ladies and there were enough comfortable seats for all of us at one time.
Interesting house :) It was a nice getaway before the school year started. The kiddos enjoyed the pool... It was definitely a great distraction from Covid-Life. Thank you!
This was my second stay here. The house is huge & beautiful. It has 2 suites. The house is super clean. Has a beautiful fireplace & the neighborhood is nice & quiet. It’s only a short drive to Memphis & shopping.
Nice secluded area away from the hustle and bustle but not too far. Clean property very spacious as well

Not everything that we thought it would be
The house is beautiful but there are problems with this property. We stayed here in late March, early April 2019.
Everything was really great until one of the guests woke up on our second morning with welts on her face. As the day went on, welts appeared on her arms as well. We were all concerned and checked her bed, she slept in the twin bed closest to the window, there was a bug in the bed! It was not a bed bug, it looked to be in the centipede family.
We contacted the property manager, owner and Evolve. We had pictures of the bug in the bed and doctor statements that verified that she had a severe reaction to a bug bite. To date, no one has been able to identify the type of bug that was in the bed. The owners refused to take any responsibility for this issue. They did offer us a discount if we came back to the property. Thanks but no thanks!
Thank you Evolve for stepping in and assisting us during this difficult time. The guest has been through two rounds of steroids and multiple doctors visits as well as missing work. If you stay at this house, check the beds often to ensure that your loved ones are not subjected to anything like this!
It was prior to pool season so we did not expect the pool area to be immaculate however it could have used some sprucing up. The weather was nice enough for us to sit outside but the chairs were dirty, again this was the end of March.
Finally the flood lights outside were not on and we could not find the switches to turn them on. It is extremely dark around the house and many of us arrived at night and were not comfortable going in and out of the house. For the safety of your guests, please ensure the outside light are working properly.

Lenette, thank you for your review. This homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response:
"We were very concerned to learn of your distress after your departure. We received a somewhat blurry photograph of the insect in question but as you mentioned, the bug was not bagged and left for positive identification. We were relieved to hear that you could not find another bug of any kind inside the house.
Our rental is located on 8 heavily wooded acres (typically quite humid) in the mid-south. Bugs can enter the premises when doors are open or simply travel in on guests’ feet or clothing. I wish we had more control over this situation, but we do not. We try to keep a spray bottle of OFF on the covered patio and spray the pool area with botanical insect repellent prior check-in. However, we should have warned guests about our acreage, pool, pond, and lawns and since your experience, we do that now. We encourage guests to bring their own insect repellent as well. Pollen and air-borne dust are also impossible to keep off exterior furniture especially in the early spring here. Perhaps we should consider offering daily cleaning service as an option and we will certainly consider that.
We are truly sorry that one of your traveling companions had a severe bug experience during her visit with us. Thank you for helping us address the issues in a direct manner."
Best, the Evolve Team
