Great discount for fall and winter visit . There are 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms upstairs (bunkbed and a queen size bed) and two living rooms with amazing views. On the ground floor there is another bathroom and 2 additional bedrooms with a king size trundle and a separate room with a double bed. The house is built on a hill so it isn’t best for those who have difficulties navigating stairs. Whether you're looking for a serene escape or an exciting family getaway, this cozy cottage has everything you need for a memorable stay. There is lakefront access with a fire pit, pergola, and dock to use in the summer. Located close to Ann Arbor, small towns, vineyards, antique stores, nice restaurants and a national park. Feel free to reach out to us during your stay - we're happy to suggest local spots to check out or answer any questions you have. We are on a private lake, which means that the area is a bit calmer and quieter than other surrounding lakes but sadly there is no launch for guests boats. We have 3 kayaks as well as two paddle boards available for rental if requested early. The water is shallow by the dock and perfect for wading.

Enjoyed everything about the property I really do wish it was accessible for your own fishing boat renting a place on the water and not being able to bring your boat is kind of a downer overall we had a great time

We are happy you enjoyed your stay. The lake is privately owned by the residents and due to a few bad visitors’ actions with boats has become restricted. We offer kayaks to enjoy the lake and hope that we can continue offering our house to visitors to enjoy the beautiful sunsets and lake access.

Cleanliness of property and condition of furniture was not acceptable. Outdoor wicker furniture in tv room was not comfortable and in bad condition. I fell through the “banded” support under the cushion. The tub was dirty with hair still in it, There was a dirty ear swab under the bed, chips and popcorn under the couch cushions. Hardwood floors were extremely worn. Bedroom hardwood floors were painted in flat white paint…bed was not moved to paint under it. The weeds in the grass were over 12 inches tall. My small dog was not able to use the area to go to the bathroom. I was told the grass was cut the previous weekend (maybe in the small front area but definitely not in the back). Front area flooded several inches with mud and rain that you had to step through to access the house. I wish I could upload pictures to share my experience.

I am so sorry to hear about your experience at the cottage. We wish you had let us know about your concerns while you were still there. While we recently transitioned to a new cleaning partner, we hold our property to incredibly high standards and regret that your stay did not reflect that. Thank you for your feedback and we are already addressing the issues you raised to ensure they are resolved for future guests.
Host was very kind and available. Kitchen well stocked. Bedrooms comfortable. The home could use some light maintenance and a new shower curtain. Beautiful view of the lake. Quiet neighborhood. Lots of water sports equipment available at the house. Good solid place to stay.
The house was great. The location was great. The only thing that wasn’t and it wasn’t anybody’s fault, but mother nature was the weather. It didn’t get nice and sunny until we left but we would definitely stay again. Thank you.

There were dead bugs all along walls in lower two bedrooms that we removed. The access to the cottage was very challenging for a person with mobility issues which was not stated on the website. The Internet address and password that were sent the day before arrival were incorrect. The view and the lake was beautiful. Nice cottage area and we enjoyed visiting the wineries.

I am happy you had a nice time and enjoyed yourselves at the cottage. We have tried to clarify on our listing that it the cottage is two levels with lots of stairs. Also, we cleaned the cottage prior to your arrival and have no idea where the flies came from but with people running in and out of the house enjoying the waterfront, flies do sneak in.
Multi-level property. Stairs are fairly steep inside if that is a concern for anyone.
Pretty flowers in the garden area.
Kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Kayak and row boat were available. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to use them.
Additional parking was available in the back (where butterfly photo was taken).
Beds and pillows were somewhat uncomfortable.
Evans Lake is pretty. Two swans and two cygnets were visible far away.

About the host
Hosted by Debra Rawlinson
We are Ann Arbor locals who have been living in the area for almost 20 years. My family has been renting out this cottage for 10+ and love meeting new people who visit.
Why they chose this property
It is a quiet and cozy area in the winter, amazing for ice fishing and bonfires. In the summer there is always something going on in the nearby towns filled with restaurants, shops, and festivals. The lake is perfect for swimming, kayaking, or just lounging in a beach chair.
What makes this property unique
The sunsets here are like no others and are the true star of every vacation. It is an amazing place for small family gatherings or a trip with close friends. We love this place so much and hope you will too!
