This was the second time we used Kathleen's property as our home away from home for work. This time we were in town for the NADA annual meeting. Our team enjoyed the property so much the first time, they insisted we stay there agin, and it did not disappoint. There's a little bit of road construction going on, but Kathleen and Kelly went WAY beyond helping us navigate, and park a big trailer during our stay. HIGHLY recommend!

Property location was good away from night life and safe. Property manger lives on premises which I was told is in the description but have yet to find. Ground floor bedrooms were disappointing, more like Basement bedrooms with multiple large dehumidifiers down there. One of my daughters chose to sleep on couch rather than in bedroom. Would not stay here again.
5 of us stayed in this beautiful home. It afforded each of us our own room and bed and room for 4 cars off the street. There were several areas for gathering. The living room has two couches, the dining room seats at least 10 and the porch is a great place to hang on nice evenings. The beds were comfortable and the baths were nice although I didn’t find any wash cloths and only bar soap and head and shoulders shampoo. Can’t speak for the other baths. The kitchen is well stocked and the hosts supplied coffee and some goodies for our stay, oh and the best oatmeal raisin cookies! The home is beautifully decorated and also very comfortable. We really enjoyed staying here! Now, if the city would just fix the surrounding streets!
It was way too hot in the upstairs part of the house every one up there was not ok with how hot it was the air only comes down to 72 it was not pleasant at all.
Overall our stay was great. However, the noise (starting around 7:30am) and the dust from the street construction was very concerning. Archie was charming, but sweeping his poop off the porch every day not so much. All in all, I would not hesitate to rent this house again.
The house was great. We had a great stay. There was only one small hiccup checking in. We did not receive check in information through email or my VRBO inbox as we usually do. We had to contact the property manager through VRBO customer service on our way there. It was not a big deal, and everything worked out. It was just stressful not having the information until we were halfway there. Like I said, the house was great. There are a few things that I will share that I wish others would have left in their reviews. The neighborhood roads are under construction (May 2024). It's possible but not easy to get around the neighborhood and there is construction noise during the daytime. The inside stairwell is narrow with a low ceiling, not a big deal at all if you know about it. Another thing that was unclear in the listing and reviews was that the property manager is on site. They stay in a separate place that is part of the house with no internal access. We did not need anything from the property manager and never met them. Everything went smoothly and we all minded our own business. Finally, we enjoyed vacationing with Archie and were very glad for his company, but I did not know that peacocks make noise pretty much around the clock. It was worth it to have him around. I just should have researched better. Overall we are very happy with our stay, would recommend the place to others, and would consider booking the place again when in New Orleans.

House in construction zone
The house is excellent. However, we needed help communicating with the property as we were unaware that the texting/chat option did not reach the property manager. This made checking in difficult as we only got the needed access information once I finally called. When I found the electricity was out in one of the bedrooms, I waited for a response to my text inquiry for three days. This made one of our bedrooms unavailable. When I finally called, it was a quick fix for me to flip a circuit breaker. We just needed the tip that contacting the property via text/chat does not get through to the person responsible for helping.

Great location but a bit disappointing
My husband, four friends and myself stayed six nights in this VRBO. It is located conveniently to downtown New Orleans and took us 15 - 20 minutes to most places we wanted to visit.
I will say that Archie the peacock is the best part of staying at this house.
When my husband and I arrived we had a difficult time getting to the house because several streets, including the street the house is located on, were closed. There was heavy maintenance going on in the area. It would have been nice to have been told this in advance of our arrival. We were also disappointed we were paying full price for having to navigate around the closed streets each day.
The downstairs only has swamp coolers in the bedrooms. On our first day I used my hairdryer in an outlet that I suppose was on the same circuit as the swamp cooler in one of the bedrooms and blew a fuse. I emailed the host twice, asking to have this fixed but never received a response. I emailed a second time and also included an issue with the toaster in the main kitchen. A filament was broken and touching metal which could be dangerous. No response to the second email as well.
One of the main bathrooms upstairs did not have hand soap or shower wash and there was not enough toilet paper for 6 people/3 bathrooms.
The house is ornate and has more ‘stuff’ than what is shown in the pictures. There are some special touches that could make this house much better. I would not give guests towels with bleached out spots.
We couldn't be happier with our stay at this 2 story house-the photos and description are accurate. We had to book just a few week before NYE and the holiday, everything else was booked and expensive. This was a last minute family vacation due to the Sugar Bowl and wanting to visit NOLA.
We took a chance on this and were very happy. This is one of the cleanest and comfortable places we've stayed at, the appliances are new and work, the toilets flush well, shower pressure is a little low but again, clean. Location was easy to hop on the highway or go around to the city.Neighborhood was quiet. Manager lives on site so check in was easy. Maps and notebook of suggestions are there to borrow. Very nice stay for us.
This house is just as pictured - gorgeous and spacious, accommodating our family and our wedding paraphernalia. The owner and manager were responsive, helpful, and easy to work with. Love the location and Archie, the peacock! We would stay here again if we're ever in NOLA. Thanks for providing such an amazing place for our family to stay together and celebrate!
We loved this home; it was very spacious and well maintained. The owner was very responsive, professional, and kind. I hate to be bias, but such a beautiful home I think would be best to have a female and younger person as the property caretaker, there were just some small details such as the rug in the kitchen upstairs needs to be cleaned. Just little things that I think a female pays better attention to. My friends thought he was a little cold with receiving them into the home. Overall, we were quite pleased with the home, and we LOVED ARCHIE. I think the home would benefit from the combination lock check in process, so you can basically check yourself in. The owner was very gracious because the property was not rented the day before to allow early check in.
Our group had a terrific stay at this beautiful home for the first weekend of Jazz Fest. The onsite property manager was super nice & very accommodating when we arrived an hour early to check-in... and again when there was a small issue with the coffee maker, resolving it quickly & with a smile! The beds were very comfortable & the kitchen very well equipped, the large dining table was perfect for our morning group breakfasts. One of the best features was having the neighborhood peacock named Archie to hang out with, he perched on the porch railing every evening! The only thing I would suggest is to have seating for 6 adults on the porch... only 4 could sit comfortably & it would be nice for all guests to be able to enjoy the porch together. Other than that we all had a wonderful stay!
Our stay in this formidable house was excellent, all the interior was exquisite, the living room with the grand piano, although needing tuning, welcoming us to the house was the denominator to the grandness of the rest of the house. The peacock Archie kept us a company on the balcony, we all miss him. The owner's reprentative was very positive and helpful. The 6 of us, three couples just turned 70, friends from high school, totally recommend this house to stay in whilst in NO.
This place is very nice, clean and spacious. Beautifully decorated in timeless fashion. We loved staying here.My only advice is to be careful walking around on the sidewalks around the neighborhood. Uneven and one can hurt themselves.
Three sisters and husbands enjoyed this beautiful home for three nights. It's very well equipped and comfortable! It was nice to have off-street parking. A grocery store was within walking distance. We especially enjoyed the neighborhood peacock that would roost on our porch each night. You won't regret staying at this home.
House was perfect for us.. perfect for a larger group.. conveniently located to everything we needed. Very well stocked with all the essentials. Would definitely stay there again.
This home was a great rental for us overall. There was plenty of room for the whole party. I would highly recommend this home to anybody. I couldn't have had a better experience at my first Vrbo booking. I can see myself staying here again in the future..
