Peter was an incredible host and was extremely kind and helpful when we had difficulty with one of our cars in the snow! The property was extremely beautiful and serene - a wonderful place to get away and relax with everything a large group might need to enjoy dinners together and outdoor activities galore.
We had an amazing time at Eagle Point. The views are spectacular from the house, its so quiet and the house was extremely well equipped for us when we got there. Peter is one if the best hosts I've had and was so responsive and accommodating to our large party. The lake is beautiful and the private beach is well equipped with anything you may want. The walk down is a bit difficult but overall worth it and definitely doable for all of us, kids included. The deck is spectacular and where we spent most of our time. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away.
We had three generations staying at the Eagle house and everyone loved it. The house was great and property and lake were breathtaking. Owners were the most responsive and I formative I’ve ever had for a rental.
House was great. Fans were necessary. Views and stars were beautiful. Loved the lake and beach. Path was tough to carry a baby and all our lake items. Overall - a great time!!
My family and I have stayed at Eagle Point twice now and both trips have been amazing! Peter and his team are very accommodating, flexible, and responsive. You can’t beat the location of the house and views of the lake… all within a short drive to Plymouth. The house is very spacious and fits all 10 of us and 3 kids comfortably. Highly recommend!
Awesome! We went to Sled Adventures and Ice Castles. Also went sledding on property. Host was wonderful. He met us on arrival and had to wait for us because we were lost on his road. He was very helpful and kind!
Beautiful property perched on a hill, overlooking snowcapped mountains and the lake. 10 people loved it - adults, kids under 10, kids under 2.
The house had everything we needed, plenty of bedrooms in which to spread out. Lots of room outside for the kids to roam. A wonderful walk around the lake. Plenty of hiking in the area.
We loved it. We'll be back.
We had the pleasure of staying at Eagle House during the week of July 4th, 2024.
Our family of 12, including grandparents, adult children and grandchildren (ages 73 yrs - 3 yrs)
all had a wonderful time and would happily return.
Our activities included hiking up Stilton Mountain,
visiting the nearby waterfalls, exploring Polar Caves, swimming, fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding at the lake, playing Family Olympic Yard Games on the huge lawn, relaxing by the fire pit, and watching fireworks and fireflies from the deck. The views of the surrounding mountains are amazing.
Lots of memories were made during our week at Eagle House!
We had a wonderful time on vacation. Wasn't expecting it to be so "of the grid" as my son put it. In other words, we had no cell service once we got to the lake. Wifi in the house worked fine though. The walk down to the hill to the water front is a bit rocky with roots. But the kids totally enjoyed using all the water toys, paddle boats, kayaks and canoe. Lots of space for the 10 of us. The fire pit was great!! The views outstanding. And the owner exceptional. I have never had a VRBO property owner be so available and making sure we had the information we needed for our stay.
Eagle Point is a beautiful location- tranquil, quiet, with gorgeous views, and plenty of outdoor space to explore. Our host Peter was amazing, providing tons of information and recommendations for activities, restaurants, and places of interest. The house was spacious enough for our 4 generation family, ages 1 1/2 to 87. From the mist rising off the lake in the mornings to the chirping sounds at sunset, the property promoted rest and relaxation.
While the property is technically lakefront, the property is so expansive that the water is a good distance away. The trip down to the lake itself was a bit treacherous for the last 200 feet, but the beach and the water are so clean and calm, it was worth the trip. Do bring your own beach towels!
And order the firewood- we ended every day with drinks at the fire pit (after the toddlers all went down) watching the sun go down across the lake. It was a wonderful family vacation!

The property is stunning. That being said it is not waterfront. The property extends to the water but it’s a long & partly treacherous route to access the lake. First down the long, steep driveway, across the road and down another short, steep driveway to the walking trail to the lake. The trail is very steep with rocks & roots. I’m in shape & still found it difficult as did my adult kids. Still, the property is beautiful. The view from the house is a panorama of mountains, fields of wildflowers & lake in the distance. The air is clear & clean. My dogs love the large yard. We heard nothing but silence & birds even though there was another house full of renters on the property. We were quite separate from them. The house is large & comfortable with enough bedrooms for my husband and I, our 4 grown children & friends & family who came & went during the week. Although I feel the 2 upstairs bedrooms with one twin bed each should have queen beds instead. We made a lot of meals in the well equipped kitchen and had a great time outside by the fire in the evenings. We had a great week overall but sadly didn’t use the lake as much as we would have if it was closer & easier to access (which was the reason we rented the house). We brought a boat so we had fun when we did get down there. I just wish the price we paid (6000) was more reflective of the fact that it is not waterfront. Peter the owner is lovely but I’m being honest so people can be prepared for the difficult lake access.
Great place for families with young kids, lots of space, beautiful hiking and the lake was gorgeous!
The house was big and had everything we needed, lots of space inside and the grounds outside are beautiful. The fire pit is amazing and the view from the yard is spectacular. The lake is gorgeous and clean — a bit of a walk for little legs, but worth it! The hiking in the area was beautiful- scenic and a great workout. The owners were so helpful and accommodating and they gave us all the info we needed ahead of time, plus they checked in during the week. A great week - we will definitely be back!
We had as many as nine folks staying at the property at one time and as few as two of us, and the house was versatile enough to easily and comfortably accommodate our changing numbers. We easily could have had more friends/family join us. The two dogs present had a great time too! The space and property were as described in the listing and Peter was quite easy to work with. I/we would recommend this property to anyone looking for some peace and quiet, some incredible views, and some quality beach/lake time.
We took a family/friends vacation for relaxing and snowmobiling. The owners are absolutely amazing!! I really can not rave enough about them! The property is breathtaking and had everything they said and much more!! We have already started planning our return next year. We could never stay anywhere else!! Thank you so much!
We’re an extended family from Georgia who were looking for a winter wonderland escape the week after Christmas. What a gem we found in this place! The location cannot get any better. We were surrounded by beautiful snowy mountain views and perfect sledding hills. Stinson lake was frozen over and absolutely stunning. We spent most of our week playing in the snow and sledding around the house. We even saw moose tracks in the yard one morning! The cabin was perfect for our big family of 11. There’s a nice space upstairs where our children had the best time playing with their Christmas presents when they were exhausted from playing in the snow. The kitchen was well equipped and we very much enjoyed our time together in there. The drive to town was pleasant and not far. We enjoyed our trips to the coffee shop Aroma Joes. Our host, Peter, was great! He met us at the cabin after we were delayed a few hours as a result of our rental cars being given to someone else. He never once complained. He was friendly and gave us great information, like places to eat and where to ski. Fugaki’s Chinese restaurant is amazing! We also really enjoyed the Covered Bridge Farm to table restaurant as well. The roads to the cabin were maintained and our host had someone snow plow our driveway when it would snow heavier. We just really loved our time there. It couldn’t have been better.
We have rented several homes over the years. I can honestly say this was the best yet! Communication with Peter and Stephen was welcoming, informative and easy through the entire process. The location is absolutely beautiful. The house was perfect for our group - couldn’t have been any better. Plenty of space to spread out, all comfy mattresses, 3 bathrooms and stocked with anything you might need for a perfect vacation. We loved it and hated to leave. Totally awesome vacation - thank you for a wonderful week!!
The location was amazing and we lucked out with last of the good summer weather to enjoy the beautiful clean lake and surrounding activities. The house was mostly adequate for our needs, though had a few issues that Peter was very receptive to addressing.
This is a beautiful property overlooking Stinson lake. The house and yard are amazing. The house is spacious with enough room for our whole family (6 adults and 5 kids) to live comfortable together. The lake is clean and so refreshing and we had access to wonderful kayaks. We had an absolutely amazing get away!
Stinson Lake is a beautiful, pristine, lightly developed lake.
Beautiful water and private beach, and includes some
water toys. The walk down the hill to access the beach is a bit challenging for the very young, or anyone with mobility issues. For example we brought along 2 kayaks, but had to launch from the town lake access since the walk was too steep and slippery to carry them down, then paddle across.
Property is rustic, and overall good, (not toddler proofed), and with a little TLC would be much better. The owners were easy to work with and very responsive, bringing a new toaster when one did not work. Sliding screen doors need replacing, and are supposed to be on order. Wifi and cell service a bit iffy, but it is the mountains, so a good getaway.
Our group included 8 adults and 4 children. We had lots of room. We enjoyed local hikes, the Rumney General Store, the Polar Caves, and mountain biking in the area.
Spacious home with a great view and secluded location near a beautiful lake. If peace and quiet is your goal, you can't do better.
