Alameda cottage

I gave this property five will deserve stars. The property was just like the website described. Small but important extra touches such as wooden hangers and ample closet. Space, light and bright, safe, secure and clean, and in a neighborhood where you can walk to pick up groceries and a few small errands meet this day excellent. The host of the property was polite and professional and proactive. I would absolutely stay here again when traveling with Myself or just one other person.

After traveling over 20 hours and several flights, we arrived at this VRBO with no information on how to check-in and no response from the host for hours. We certainly did not receive any of the typical email or app communications that typically precede a stay - aside from a confusing message addressed to another traveler. VRBO phone attendants were also unable to reach the host or to assist with any same day alternate accommodations. We were fortunate to be able to find the latter on our own, but only after a long, frustrating, exhausted wait and series of phone calls.

Sorry to hear your frustration. It was unfortunately we were unable to get msgs thru in Vrbo app for some reason until later that day. It didn’t got popped up to our attention. We have talked to Vrbo about having the msgs also connect to our cohosts so to avoid any issue with host app problem. But diff from other platforms, Vrbo system only allow one single contact.

The host was very helpful with several issues that came up. I had some trouble with the security codes, and she was both helpful and patient with me until the problem was solved. At first I could not get TV reception, but she came over and fixed that too (maybe a cord had gotten unplugged?). The cottage was very comfortable, although a little chilly. I ran the wall heater, usually for several hours at a time, but I didn't want to run it too much. The bed was very comfortable, and I slept better than I had for a long time. The shower was very nice too. The only thing it lacked was a grab bar for safety (I am an older person). I had all the amenities I needed -- there were plenty of K-cups for really good coffee and, although I did no cooking, the microwave came in handy on several occasions. The place was basically perfect for me.
