This two story lake house is not just on the water. It is out over the water. The fishermen are going to love fishing from all four sides of this lake house. Locally known as a “CAMP”..... not sleek, not rustic. This camp is comfortable and perfect for family and group gathering as well as fishing and hunting excursions. The four-sided boardwalk surrounding the camp features easy access to the water for swimming and easy in and out boat access. There is a picnic table, boat slip, fish and game cleaning station, and a bathroom. The porch is screened and has a big swing for lazy mornings and quiet evenings. The first floor has a kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is completely furnished. The second floor includes a deck for viewing breath taking sunsets, a large TV game room with bunk beds, a master bedroom, and a full bath with washer and dryer. Lake Verret lies inside the Atchafalaya Basin, the largest natural swamp in North America. Just 6 miles from Pierre Part, home of the legendary alligator hunter Troy Landry, made famous by the History Channel's “Swamp People”. Lake Verret is surrounded by 100 year old Bald Cypress trees, laden with flowing Spanish moss, conveniently located just off Highway 1 near Shell beach. The lake is home to alligators, Bald Eagles, Osprey, Blue Herons a wide variety of water fowl. This ancient lake is full of Large Mouth Bass, Blue Gill, Sunfish, Catfish and Crappie; known here as “SAC-A-LAIT. Freshwater Drum as large as a man has been caught from the dock of this camp! Bring your boat and enjoy the adventure on your own or let Allen Marroy host your party or serious fishing expedition. Allen is a lifelong “CAJUN” and five time champion Basketball coach. Allen has fished and hunted the lakes and bayous of Cajun Country his entire life. He knows where to go, when to go and what to use for tackle and bait. He will put you “ON THE FISH.” Allen is also a great Cajun cook and is available for preparing your catch of the day for your plate or the freezer. Be sure to bring your camera! You are going to see and experience a truly unbelievably, beautiful place! Come watch eagles, red shoulder hawks, herons, egrets and others . They swarm around camp to eat left overs from cleaning fish.

This isn’t a 5 star hotel, but it IS a 5 star stay! We called it the swamp house, it was the most peaceful stay. We watched the fish jump, listened to the water hit the rocks while swinging on the screened in front porch.
Mr Allen and Ms Toni are wonderful hosts! We did some fishing and had an amazing swamp tour. Beautiful scenery and company. We had a tasty fish fry provided by our hosts and feel like we have been lifelong friends ! We will try to visit whenever we come back to visit Louisiana.
We absolutely loved our stay here. Mr. Allen and Toni were some of the best hosts we have encountered. Mr. Allen even cleaned and gave us some fresh fish to cook. We will be planning and booking our trip for next year soon as we get home.
This place is just as quaint and comfy as described. We wanted a quiet place to relax and reset and this was perfect. Will definitely be back and maybe even do a little fishing with Mr Allen.

We had a great time. Loved fishing with Allen and seeing and hearing the wildlife. The crawfish boil was awesome as was the blackberry cobbler. Very relaxing. We definitely will be back. It was awesome!
A great place to unwind and slow down. Fishing, bird watching and listening to the water on the deck was just what we needed. Toni and Allen were great hosts and made us feel welcome. We will come back. D. Mitchell
Toni greeted us as we arrived and walked through with us. We spent the week relaxing on the deck and covered porch. We had a great time and Toni and Allen were wonderful at answering any questions we had.
Allen and Toni were such wonderful hosts! Allen's bayou water tour was amazing. Just what we were looking for. Toni and Allen were always available to help us with our every need. We enjoyed their true Cajun Country knowledge and hospitality. We highly recommend it for hunters, fishermen as well as families looking for an authentic bayou experience.

Thanks so much for coming to our camp. It was our pleasure meeting ya'll
What a wonderful Lake Verret visit to the Camp. Loved the charm and watching the sunrise without having to get out of bed! You must have Allen take you for a boat ride….his knowledge of the area, flora and fauna was excellent. Truly enjoyed his stories, great experience.
Toni and Allen we very friendly and helpful. It happened to be cold while we were there so fishing was not too good. The place and people were fantastic.
