We have been coming to the Mouth of the Huron for years and were looking for a place my Dad could stay. He really enjoyed staying in this cabin. Very scenic and peaceful setting.

Welcome back any time, you left the place spotless,
Exactly as advertised. It was a perfect spot for our adventure. The host was easy to deal with and the cabin was clean. We will be back.

This was quite an adventure, and not the kind I was hoping for. When we arrived, we could not get the generator to turn on, so we had no power. There is absolutely no service by the cabin, so we had to drive 25 minutes back the way we came from to call the guy and ask if he could come turn on the generator. He didn’t answer our three calls or any texts. We ended up just going back and going to sleep. We had bought groceries and kept them in the cooler overnight and they almost went bad, because we assumed the generator powered the fridge. The guy shows up the next morning and turns on the generator (which is quite loud). Mentions that the fridge is powered separately, so we could have used that all along. He also mentions that we could have just driven 3 miles in the opposite direction to get service. None of this was explained on the instructions on the kitchen table. It also doesn’t explain how to use the toilet. No running water in sinks, but he had a 5 gallon jug of water for us to use. We went to a few “landmarks” nearby that Google Maps had mentioned. They were pretty but nothing huge. That night we tried to make a fire (he did have plenty of wood) and the lighter ran out of fluid (was less than half full when I started). Then the generator turned off and again, we could not get it back on.For families: be aware that there is a picture in the bathroom of ladies in thongs riding motorcycles from behind. Everything else was family appropriate.

First off this is a off grid camp, that is why it is important to check in on time ,I have met everyone at camp and showed them how to start generator, water, propane everything.I was not aware I was supposed to tell you where your phone will work.Off grid is off grid. There are step by step instructions on how to start generator, never ounce have had a problem, some people just don't have any common sense.
