First, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. There was an issue with checking in. We were told that early check in was available and that would be great as we were traveling from out of state. When we got there, early check in wasn’t available and we waited for 3 hours until they told us this (communication was difficult). Second, I had a two night stay and signed the rental agreement for two nights, but they overbooked the room one night so we could only stay the first night. Fortunately, they had another cottage for us to move to. The second cottage had a different bed situation and my adult daughter and I had to share a bed, rather than having our own. We had to repack and move all the food we had bought. Lastly, my fault I only read the title of the description stating private deck and hot tube. It is a beautiful private deck but the hot tub was in another building for all the cottages. My fault but were we bummed. Also, with the error on the part of Breakwater or VRBO reservation, I had to be in contact with the managers/owners, many times I would call and the call was hung up on, then I would receive a text “how can we help you”. This was very difficult to resolve this intense situation with the delay of texting. Breakwater did compensate us for the second room but the whole situation should not have happened. We were there for memorial for my ex-husband and my daughters father and it was emotional. This situation made it so much worse. We will not be back!
