About this space
Come unplug at this adorable, spacious cabin on the bank of the
Shenandoah river. Enjoy peaceful dinners amongst the trees on a two tiered deck. Fall asleep to the rhythmic sounds of nature waking to coffee in sunroom.

If you prefer social nightlife, you’re just 10 minutes from the casino, bars and restaurants
The space
This cozy yet spacious cabin has two bedrooms (one queen and one double) with two full baths. One full bath has access from the queen bedroom. There is a trundle bed that opens to two single beds in the day room that over looks the river.

In addition to a full kitchen, dining area and living room, this cabin boasts a sunroom, a day room and a two level deck.

Though this cabin is located in a quiet neighborhood on the river, you’re only ten minutes to the casino, bars and restaurants.

The home was clean and lovely. Right on the Shenandoah River! Unfortunately most of our time was spent either working (The wifi was most excellent!) or traveling between families homes, so we did not have a lot of time to just enjoy the house. I was able to get on the river a few times, and the kayaks provided were in good condition. We loved it so much we’re coming back in the spring!

Awesome weekend. Host was terrific and attentive to our needs. The host even dropped off fresh vegetables from his garden for us which were delicious. Deck is great for relaxing and watching the ducks swim in the river.

The River House was awesome. The location was amazing and my three boys really enjoyed fishing, swimming, and kayaking. The house is well appointed and has multiple decks overlooking the river. Definitely a place we would like to come back to.

The house was easy to find, had everything we needed, quiet, rustic and perfect for our stay. Comfortable, clean and pet friendly. Veiws are picturesque to say the least. Food recommendations: Angelos Mediterranean, white horse tavern and charles town family diner.Outdoor activities: Harpers ferry village, maryland heights (harder), weverton cliff (maderate and amazing overlook view. Runners: the loop from avon bend dr to king lear dr and gerneral rodgers back to avon bend rd (house address is 2.5 to 3.7 miles and hilly but a overall enjoyable run. Cant wait to come back and stay in the spring.

My husband and I stayed at this property to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. The river house is adorable and exactly as pictured in the listing. John provides all of the essentials you will need for your stay. The property sits right along the Shenandoah River and gave us the peaceful vibe we wanted for our extended weekend stay. The location was close to everything - just a short drive to all the activities we planned. We explored several local historic towns and Civil War battlefields, played and ate at the casino, shopped, and enjoyed the area's abundant views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are more breweries and wineries to count - all within a short drive from The River House.John's communication and hospitality were top-notch! He even surprised us by leaving a bottle of wine and anniversary balloon on the counter for us to enjoy upon our arrival. We will absolutely return again in the future!
