Beds were comfortable. Nice seating areas. The house and frontier log building were very unique and the furniture was lovely! If you are a light sleeper the trains will definitely be an issue. I slept right through them but others in my group slept a little less through the night. During non sleep time the trains are very cool to watch. They pass often. There was beautiful moon rise and sunrise this morning. The parking was easy and also unloading the car was close to the house. I absolutely loved the porch swing.

Very relaxing overnight stay! We’ve stayed here before and enjoyed it again. Love my childhood through teen hometown, surrounding spectacular Flint Hills and scenic drive to historical Cottonwood Falls!! Love Chase County and our stay at the historic Frontier Store in Matfield Green.

A peaceful place

It was only 20 minutes from tallgrass praire national preserve and we loved the area. The house has a lot of charm with an essence from another time but with modern amenities. We would stay here again.
