Our family group of four returned to the property (see our prior review dated 22-Jul, 2021). The cottage was home base for hiking at Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, driving in the Flint Hills, enjoying the shops and courthouse in Cottonwood Falls, and dining at Chef Stan's in Strong City. As before, the house was perfect - cozy, comfortable, well-furnished, and well-stocked (thanks, Lee Anne, for the cinnamon roll microwave time tip!).
The house is just lovely. The quiet in the neighborhood was great. We needed to just unwind and this was perfect. We traveled through the Flint Hills which even in November have their own beauty. The hotel cafe downtown had super food and the antiques were fun and unique
This is the first time using Vrbo for any trip. We will do it again! This property was comfortable and everything was as it was stated on the site. Owners were very quick to respond to any questions. There were next to none because the notebook had everything covered. We all enjoyed our get away. I never give 5 stars but I did this time. Thank you for going above our expectations.
Five of us traveled to KS to hike at the Tall Grass prairie. This house was absolutely perfect for us. Very clean, spacious, cozy, and welcoming. Loved it.
My family enjoyed the home for a trip to visit the Tall Grass Preserve. The communication leading up to the trip was excellent and the touches once we arrived were wonderful. My kids loved the cinnamon rolls and it was so nice to basically have an entire breakfast supplied and not have to think about it.
The property was just what we wanted. Nice clean home in a safe neighborhood. It's location in the Flint Hills was perfect for us to explore all directions
The house was as advertised. Very easy check in and checkout. It was clean and comfortable. Nice porch for sipping coffee in the morning. Very quiet neighborhood. We would stay here again and recommend it.
We had a great stay here at the Plum Street guest house. Cinnamon roles, clear, well-laid out guest instructions, plenty of extra towels, bedding, etc., Air Conditioning, and spacious cottage: we felt really at home and would definitely come back again. Only my husband and I came, but it would be a great place for an entire family!
My stay was amazing! Everything about the property and what the hosts provided was above and beyond any VRBO that I have ever stayed. Everything that you could think of they provided without having to ask as it was already taken care of! Great experience!
The Guesthouse on Plum was perfect for my daughter's 21st birthday weekend. She loved it so much she took pictures for her own first home in the future. The location was perfect for hiking in the Tall Grass Nature Preserve and Chase Lake area. We will be back!
+1 to those who said - the place is roomier than the photos communicate.
+1 to those who said the cinnamon rolls are delicious and the owners have great hospitality!
The Flint Hills are a great place to visit and this home is a great place to land when you do.
The owners of this property went beyond what was expected. The communication between them and us was excellent. The property was easy to get into and was very clean. It had everything one would need for a weekend getaway. It’s bigger inside than it looks. Loved staying there and woukd go again!

About the host
Hosted by Wade or Lee Anne Coester
This was our first home in the town where I was born and raised. We completely renovated it then moved a few years later and kept it as a rental. A second complete renovation, 20 years later, left the house so beautiful that we decided to share it as a Guesthouse.
Why they chose this property
So many features made us fall in love with this house - the Victorian design, the front porch detailing, the huge bay window in the dining room, the lovely hardwood floors, the large airy rooms, the shady yard. Comfy beds and seating and antique details complete the look.
What makes this property unique
Plum Street Guesthouse is located on a quiet shady street only 3 blocks from our main street with its historic courthouse, shopping, restaurants, and river bridge park. We are only 3 miles from Tallgrass Prairie Nat'l Park and Chase County State Lake and the lovely vistas of the Flint Hills.
