We were looking for a quiet place to spend the 4th of July, and this cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It had great views, it was very quiet, and the hot tub was a bonus.

The time spent at this cabin was good. The driveway is very steep and the place where you park has a nice section that has been washed away by rain. To get to the cabin is a little difficult to walk over. Needs to be graded. The cabin was full of bugs. Yes you are in the woods BUT you can clean the dead bugs from the window ledges and spider webs from the corners. The inside needs a paint job. The blankets need to be washed. I got flea bites from the bed. The fire pit is a hazard, broken landscaping blocks to form a circle pit. The back stairs are hard to get on to from the ground, they are too high. The hot tub was dirty with scum on the sides. Beautiful view though. This cabin needs some TLC and it could be great. The stove top is fast to cook, so that was nice. Very quiet and private place. There are other cabins around on each side of you. In the summer there are trees that separate you otherwise the rest of the season you will be able to see each other. The cabin is also on a gravel road so prepare for that incase you have a nice vehicle you don’t want rock chips on. We were not aware of this when we made our reservation. We stayed for 3 nights in August.
Perfect place for us, clean, and well kept. The views are spectacular, love the hot tub on the deck with a view. The deck is a great book reading place. Luke responds quickly. Wanted to go back in the fall to see the leaves change... already booked. We will be going back.
Wanted a little get away to enjoy nature - fireflies and birds and peace and this place was perfect! Views were even prettier than pictured. Host communication was prompt and friendly and helpful. Property access was easy and exactly as described; often find locks to be unnecessarily complicated and loved that this was easy to use. Smooth check out process. Beautiful cozy house and stunning property. Loved our time there!
Beautiful property with a stunning view. It was a great weekend escape and I absolutely love that it was a dog friendly stay. The owner is incredibly responsive. We did have an issue getting stuck / sliding down the driveway due to ice and snow. Luke replied right away and had someone come plow and bring salt. This has no effect on the rating but to let people know: The roads you take to get to this property in the winter are rough. We hit many spots that weren't taken care of and it was very icy in the bluffs. I would definitely return in the summer but probably wouldn't do that drive again in the winter
The property wasn’t clean - there were a lot of dead bugs in the windows in the ledges, something that looked like buggers wiped on spots on the walls, the comforter was also dirty. The hot water heater went from hot to cold without warning multiple times throughout a very brief shower and it actually burned my skin. The driveway was extremely washed out and was in need of grating as well - it was difficult to get in and out of the driveway even with a larger SUV and there is no actual path to walk from the driveway to the house. However the view was nice, but I’m not sure it was worth the money. The bed is just the mattress and very uncomfortable, so luckily there was the hot tub to soak in in the morning. I told the owner about the hot water issues and they said that no one has ever said that before. He also said the cleaning lady had a new comforter for the bed, but hadn’t brought it out yet.
The listing was exactly as described with beautiful property and view of the Mississippi River. We would absolutely stay again and recommend it to others.
