Unwind in Goreville at this lovely tiny cabin of 240 square feet, full of everything you could possibly need. The spacious outdoor pavilion hosts 4 Aironback chairs, fire pit and BBQ. This cozy retreat features heating, AC, iron, coffee maker, dishes for 4, ailverware, kitchen ware, pots and pans, bakeware, microwave, stove/oven, refrigerator, 43 inch smart tv and high-speed fiber internet. The cozy area is equipped with 1 full bed and 1 sofa bed, guests can relax and recharge after a day of exploring. Fall in love with Ferne Clyffe and Lake of Egypt and enjoy the magic it has to offer. Also nearby is Shawnee National Forest, Belle Smith Springs, Dixon Springs, Egyptian Hills Resort, Walker's Bluff Casino/Winery, Tunnel Hill Bike Trail, Shawnee Wine Trail, Garden of the Gods, Inspiration Point, Giant City State Park, Pounds Hollow, Crab Orchard National Refuge, Devil's Kitchen Lake, Little Grassy Lake and Southern Illinois University. KOA Campground has a water park for the kids ($), pontoon rentals ($), jet ski rentals ($) and a place to launch your boat ($). Perfect little spot for the night after being out on the lake. It was too hot to use the fire pit outside but would definitely come back and rent the place again. The inside smelled amazing and was so cute.

I have been booking with VRBO for over 10 years and I have never come across a property such as this one. This property is extremely misleading. Most of the pictures in the listing do not have anything to do with the property other than they're in the surrounding area including the main photo. What you will see pulling up to the property is that the cabin is in fact a cabin/ shed in someone's backyard in the middle of a neighborhood. The view you will have is NOT of the woods, but of the neighbor's garage and work truck.The main photo in this listing is of the lobby at Giant City State Park where you can find a decent cabin for much cheaper in the woods.

Thank you for your feedback. We feel it is important to clarify several inaccurate statements in this review. The cabin is not a shed. It is a purpose-built cabin constructed by John Yoder, a local Amish builder. The photos in our listing are 100% genuine and accurately depict the cabin, property, outdoor areas, and surrounding scenery. Our photos clearly show the cabin’s covered porch, wooded areas, covered fire-pit area, and neighboring properties. We have never advertised the cabin as completely secluded or as being located inside Giant City State Park. Some listing photos highlight nearby Southern Illinois attractions so guests can see what the area has to offer. They are not intended to suggest those attractions are physically located on the property. Most importantly, this reviewer never stayed at the cabin or experienced the accommodations. They drove by the property, decided it did not meet their personal expectations, and requested a refund outside the applicable cancellation policy. We understand that every property may not be the right fit for every traveler. However, we stand behind the accuracy and authenticity of our listing and photographs and encourage prospective guests to review the complete listing when deciding whether our cabin is right for them.

I was in the area for a seminar and to do some hiking. The location was perfect. The cabin could not have been better and was just right size for one person - not too big, not too small. Very clean, had everything you would need, and I really liked the kitchen area. I would absolutely stay here again if in the area and would strongly recommend it.
