Originally built in 1890 and moved to its location current location in 1920. The original log cabin serves as the living room now. The house has been completely remodeled and updated on inside. New furniture, cabinets, beds, paint, floors and amenities. All new! Just a few minutes from the secluded shores on Lake Michigan, Lake McDonald and Gulliver Lake. 15 minutes away from historic Manistique. Only about an hour from Mackinac Island. Same for Pictured Rocks. Sightseeing or just relaxing under the stars, it's all here. Unwind in Gulliver at this adorable house. With 2 nice sized bedrooms upstairs, separated by a door, each featuring queen beds. Downstairs a bathroom stocked with the essentials, this cozy retreat is perfect for guests looking for a relaxing getaway. Enjoy the convenience of amenities like a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, pots/pans, coffee pot, heating, AC, and WiFi during your stay. A great place to call homebase while you're away, we hope you enjoy your stay.

Overall a smooth sailing cozy stay! The bedrooms are both located upstairs which you can not tell from the pictures, so if you have small children keep that in mind. Otherwise everything was great, they have everything you could possibly need and the small details really brought everything together. Wifi, board games, a purified water dispenser because of the hard water that comes from the sink. Amazing hosts, would stay here again!

Host was super nice. We were so pleasantly surprised with all of the amenities. It was so nice to have things there like coffee and creamer and condiments. We definitely felt like we were at home. The pup used the dog bed and the toys and I was really happy that they made it feel like home to our dog also! We enjoyed the fire pit as well. Beds were super comfy and shower was hot! All around great stay!

Beautiful home

What a beautiful home. We had everything that we needed. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful! Very comfortable beds. Even an inflatable mattress for the kids that did not want to sleep in the same bed:) The home was centrally located for our day trips. We visited Lake Kitch-iti-kipi near Manistique, Pictured Rocks National Shoreline, Tahqumenon Falls, and Mackinac Island. All were between 20 minutes to an hour away.

Very clean and cozy

Home was extraordinarily clean and yard was well-kept. Ample bed, bath and kitchen linens area available, and there are nightlights throughout the home (I loved this, especially since I was travelling kids). Communication from the host was great--thorough and timely. One sleeping area is open to the stairwell from the mainfloor and a pass-through to the other bedroom (not an issue for me, but if, say, two couples were travelling together and each wanted privacy, you'd want to know this). Some noise from the highway (and a train whistle) can be heard, but would stay here again!

Overall impression: Photo's look great on line! Attention to detail is mixed. Some details are way above average like the kitchen, bathroom mirror, and furniture while others, paint, trim, and cosmetic finishes are lacking a bit. If details do not bother you, this is an amazing place to stay as you explore the UP.They graciously allowed pets. No back door made it a little challenge for dogs, but we did fine as the road in front of the house is not terribly busy. A huge deciding factor in choosing this property was the furniture! I have to sleep in a recliner and this was so amazing to have so many options! Hubby slept on the couch rather than upstairs and we slept very well. Get any groceries in Manistique. There is a gas station in Gulliver but that's all. Great place! Great communication with Ben. We enjoyed ourselves very much!
