The cabin is beautiful, in a quiet setting. Perfect for relaxing and as a base to explore the upper pennisula. Hosts were helpful and responded promptly. We would love to stay here again
Great cabin to relax and enjoy nature. From butterflies to humming birds to crayfish always something to see. We even saw a bald eagle on the property. Dog and kids enjoyed playing in the water and playing games on the deck. Thank you for having us.
This is a great little cabin in a beautiful setting. We had great weather and were able to enjoy many sunrises. Loved the hummingbird feeder on the covered porch. Nice gas bbq. Good selection of dishes. Ok cookware. Got good use of the woodburner-wood supplied. Put on our fav list
Beautiful log home providing everything we could need and more. Well situated to enjoy great UP sites, but private, quiet and completely relaxing when staying at cabin. Plenty of firewood, great beach views and not far from Manistique, Seney, even made a rrip to Grand Marais to look for Yooperlites! 5 stars from all 4 of us!!
This property would have five stars if it were not for the smell of the water. We used bottled water to cook and drink having said that we did enjoy our stay. The view from the cabin is beautiful and the fire pit is a definite plus.
A great up north getaway yet close to the necessities. The cabin has all the items needed for a relaxing vacation.Very secluded on a two track with no neighbors other than wildlife. The front porch is 100ft. from Lake Michigan and 50ft. from the fire pit.
A true hidden treasure in the U.P.
We saw the Northern Lights from the beach in front of the cabin! The cabin is beautiful and was extremely clean. It is exactly as described, with the exception of an added bed in the loft, where my daughter loved watching the sunrise every morning. It is well stocked with many things you’d need for a stay here. We didn’t get to spend quite as much time outside at the cabin as we’d have liked because the mosquitoes were pretty bad, so be sure to bring bug spray and citronella candles or torches! Also bring plenty of bottled water. It’s well water with a filter on the kitchen faucet, but there is a smell to it. However, that doesn’t detract from the charm of the cabin. And the location is gorgeous, way back in the woods down long dirt roads. It’s incredibly peaceful and quiet, and although there are a few neighbors in the vicinity you can’t see or hear them. The view of the lighthouse from the beach is gorgeous. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Kamp Flapjack again!
The home is cutely decorated in a nautical theme. It sits right on the lake with a view of the lighthouse.
It was a lot of fun to watch the hummingbirds buzz around the feeder.
They really didn’t mind us being there at all. There was also a friendly rabbit living under the deck that would come out in the late afternoon.
Please note there is no internet and very spotty cellular coverage. Most days I had no phone coverage at all. If you want some time off the grid this is the place to be.
A limited amount of cell phone coverage can be found if you drive up to the lighthouse parking lot (at least durning the day).
Lovely views and a nice place to unwind.
We were smitten as soon as we walked to the front of this sweet cabin. Located right on Lake Michigan this vacation property offered beautiful views of the sunrise as well as of the lighthouse "around the corner". The cabin was comfortable, attractively decorated and had everything we needed. As a home cook, I especially enjoyed the gas oven/range, and we also made use of the gas grill. This place definitely checked all our boxes: location, fire pit, grill, decor, and pet friendly. Our three year old golden enjoyed exploring the beach. We'd love to make a return visit!
The setting of this cabin couldn’t be better, it’s secluded and private, without anyone else in sight. Close to the Seul Choix light house (part of the beautiful view) and lots of other very cool things to see and do. My kids and I made day trips to Kitchitikipi, Fayette State Park, Pictured Rocks, and white water rafting on the Menominee River. Our hosts were great with communication, the cabin was clean and homey and stocked with the necessities for cooking. The kids loved the loft area, where they could be on their own a bit, and there are three comfy beds. On a side note- the water in front of the cabin is shallow and rocky, great if you just want to wade- or have little ones, but bring water shoes. If you want to swim, there is a beautiful beach within ten minutes, which the owners were kind enough to direct us to. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Well maintained and impeccably clean, Camp Flapjack was a dream for our family trip. Day trips to Marquette, Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island and the Seney Wildlife Refuge are easy drives from here. Thoughtful hosts made the cabin a joy to stay in. We had everything we needed for our family of 5 plus dog. Kids loved playing on the beach and looking for fossils which are plentiful. The water is clear and beautiful. We loved daily birding walks and searching for beach glass. The Seul Choix Lighthouse is an easy walk down the road, and is supposedly haunted- which the kids loved. Camp Flapjack is a great place to stay in our beautiful Upper Peninsula!!
We had a great stay at Camp Flapjack! We made several day trips to family favorite and new stops within about an hour drive from the property. We enjoyed watching the lake freighters, taking walks to the lighthouse, skipping rocks on the beach and we even squeezed in a couple of campfires with kids that weren't too tired out from our activities. It was great to see the kids free from screens and schedules, just being kids again.
We needed a getaway, and we got just what we needed at Camp Flapjack.
I stayed at the cabin for four days, using it as a home base for grouse hunting.
Perfect location and amenities for use as a fall hunting base camp. Gorgeous views from the back porch and a good Variety of grouse hunting opportunities 20-60 minute drives from the property. The cabin was extremely clean and really nicer than I needed for a hunt camp but a welcome luxury to come back to each evening to kick back and relax and recharge for the next day. Would also be a great summer rental, or a nice place to stay for a fall color tour. The cabin and grounds were nice enough that you would never even have to leave the property and still have a wonderful time.
Camp Flapjack was the perfect get UP get away. Bonfires on the lake most nights with nothing but the sound of the lake around you. Completely secluded. The sunrises were my favorite part. We would get up early just to go sit on the shell beach and watch the sun come up with tea and coffee in hand. We brought water shoes and waded around the lake around the cabin searching for fossils. It was awesome. The cabin is perfectly cozy and perfectly clean, we fell in love the second we drove up. It’s a short drive to town if you need anything and a short walk to the Seul Choix point lighthouse which was so cool. The location itself, is just so relaxing - almost completely surrounded by water. Highly recommend if you are looking for a secluded, quiet and relaxing getaway from the fast pace of life.
This secluded cabin was the perfect spot for our family getaway. Loved that it was right on the water and it was private. We watched the freighters go by and there was plenty of wildlife. The cabin is updated with Dish TV, beautiful bathroom, and great kitchen appliances. We had everything we needed for a peaceful stay in the U.P.
Our family of four had a wonderful stay at Camp Flapjack. We loved the view of the lake and sunrises. Secluded home surrounded by forest, that provided serenity to our family,.
A lovely, secluded cabin in the woods right on Lake Michigan. With all of the modern conveniences, and close enough to town (15-minute drive) in case you forgot anything, the cabin offers an opportunity to escape the hectic pace of the digital world for a week of wonderful sunrises, campfires on the lakeshore, and all the sounds of nature.
It is also within easy driving distance of some of the UP's most popular attractions which makes this a place to relax or use as a home base for visits throughout the UP.
Communication with the host was excellent, and I would highly recommend a stay here - especially if you are looking to disconnect from the internet for a bit. And if you really need to check email, a quick visit to a roadside/boardwalk park in Manistique will be all you need - or so I have heard...
Thanks
Mike
