Welcome to our home that was featured on HGTV!!We hope you love it as much as we do. We are back on the rental market for the first time in a few years!

Breathtaking sunrises over beautiful West Bay can be enjoyed from almost any room in the house, the large patio with tiered sundeck, or the 100 plus feet of sandy private beach. We have no doubt you will be stunned by this gorgeous up north home and create many lasting memories here.

Seize the Bay is your perfect vacation home that combines modern luxury amenities with relaxed-style living. It is located on M22 just 5 miles from the charming village of Suttons Bay and 10 miles from downtown Traverse City. Situated in the middle of Leelanau Peninsula, you are minutes away from wineries, breweries, trails, boutique shopping, local restaurants, and countless other attractions.

You will have plenty of space in our 3600 sq ft house, making it ideal for multiple families, couple trips, or other getaways. Our 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath home sleeps 12 comfortably and can easily accommodate more if needed.

This is a popular home to rent, and summer rentals may be limited (please check calendar). During peak season, we will be renting on a weekly basis, but there will be more flexibility in the off-season. Let us if you have any questions at all about our home. Please note this is a private home managed by our family, not corporate property managed by a property management firm. The pluses are you have access to the owner, you get access to everything we use, you aren’t nickel and dimes for toilet paper, laundry soap etc. It’s our collection of dishes, often the pantry/fridge will have some daily use items. This also means occasionally things that are broken take a little longer to repair, you get a touch of a home that’s loved by its owners and all that stay there and things aren’t always perfect. But the views are amazing, we care about you, our home and our neighbors and we can’twait for you to enjoy our home the way we do!

Beautiful property on peaceful Suttons Bay

The property was gorgeous. The backyard backed up onto Suttons Bay. We had 4 sunny days to sit by the bay. At night we had a cozy setting outside by the fire. The house was well-designed for our group of 7. It gave us privacy as well as open areas for gathering.

You won’t find a better place to stay

This beautiful house is at the very top of the list of dozens of places we have rented over the years. There were 10 of us, and we were accommodated easily. The kitchen is amazingly well stocked; you will not need to bring anything at all with you. The living areas are spacious and comfortable, and there are multiple outdoor seating areas, starting with the patio, and heading all the way down to the water, one of the spots with a fire pit. The location is excellent, 5 minutes from Suttons Bay, and 15 minutes to Front Street in TC. Omena, Northport, Leland, and the sand dunes are all very easy drives. I cannot recommend this wonderful place strongly enough; if you stay here, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. If my family ever returns to this area, I will do my best to make sure we stay here.

Amazing family vacation!

Amazing property on M-22 and Grand Traverse Bay! Scott is a wonderful property owner, and so easy to work with. He communicated well on check in, and checked in periodically during our visit. He got back with questions we had very timely. The house is so well appointed with everything you would need. All you need is your personal belongings, because this house has it all! The outdoor beach area is amazing, and even includes a kayak and paddleboards! We highly recommend this property!!

Fabulous week!

We celebrated our 50th anniversary with our family. It couldn’t have been more fun for everyone from 3-72! Scott was very welcoming and great to work with and the kids loved the water toys..paddle boards, lily pad and kayak. There was much to do in the area with the location and very good restaurants. We highly recommend the house!

Great spot in Sutton's Bay

We had a great stay at Scott's property. We loved all of the extra amenities like the games, toys, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. The home has a gorgeous view of the lake and is perfectly situated near fun spots like Sutton's Bay, Leland, Sleeping Bear Dunes and downtown Traverse City. Scott was always easy to reach and happy to help. We would be happy to stay there again on another trip to Northern Michigan. Thanks for a great stay, Scott!

Just perfect

We had a family reunion / 50th anniversary celebration with our two children and 4 grandchildren ages 9-12 (10 total) and everyone had a fantastic time. The setting is spectacular and the home was well appointed and equipped for our stay, including water toys which kept the kids entertained completely. Would definitely stay here again... and we all agreed on that. Helped make a memory of a lifetime. We travel first class and this met and exceeded our expectations. 👍👍

Great vacation house for our 40th anniversary family vacation!

Our multigenerational family of nine had the best time celebrating our 40th anniversary at this beautiful home right on the water! Each couple had a king bed and two grandkids had fun sharing the bunk room. The baby slept in a pack and play provided by the house. We enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding and rented a pontoon boat for a day. The beach behind the house is shallow all the way past the dock and fun for the little kids to play in. We cooked most meals in and enjoyed s'mores around the fire pit. The owner even mailed my calendar that I left in the nightstand. We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic place for a great family vacation.

Between the water, dock, fire pit, and great patio we spent lots of time. We used some of the things supplied for entertainment that were in the garage. The house is nicely located for going back to Traverse City or exploring the smaller towns on the pennisulas. The house easily handled our family of 14 that range from us grandparents down to our littlest 2 year old granddaughter. Scott was quick to respond to any questions we had.

Exactly as posted and perfect for larger families and groups. We hosted our family reunion here - during hot summer weather week. Beautiful views across the bay, patio for shaded bbq, fire pit, large kitchen with casual dining table for 8. We loved it and hope to return next year!

Seize the Bay -Suttons Bay MI

Fantastic, striking water views. Our family of 14 had plenty of room. Toys for the children, fire pit, kayak, wi-fi are among the many items at Seize the Bay. The home is exceptionally clean which is a top priority for us. It is located about 15 minutes from Traverse City. A great-away from the hustle-bustle, but yet very convenient for things to do. Our family from Georgia and California had a great reunion.

Beautiful house with a gorgeous view of the Bay. Great place for a family or couples getaway

House is easily accessible from Traverse City. There are many wineries and breweries within a few miles of the property. Rooms are spacious with unbelievable view of the bay. We were lucky to have a full moon shimmering on the water for two nights. We took advance of a fire pit on the patio in the evening to relax and socialize after a day of touring wineries and a brewery. Kitchen is large and a great gathering place. There are two fireplaces which we used every evening which made the house even cozier. There are 5 bedrooms and ample bathrooms to accommodate a large family or several couples. Enough space for all to gather and a large enough house to get away from others for alone time. Many comments were made that the house would be perfect for any season. We catered a meal one evening and the next day ordered and picked up box lunches for our bus wine tour. I highly recommend Grandview Catering especially for the box lunches. They were great to work with and easily met our requests. Property owner was courteous and you could tell he really wanted his guest to enjoy their stay. Would I stay here again. Absolutely.

House was beautiful and perfect for our large group of friends. Any questions we had Scott was available to answer which was wonderful! Highly recommend renting this home for a large group of family or friends! Perfect location near wineries and TC! Also, beautiful sunrises in the am!

Amazing!

The pictures do not do the property justice. It is absolutely stunning! We just loved everything about it. From the firepit table close to the water to the spectacular view to the Comfy king size beds to the beautiful yet comfortable kitchen with every appliance needed to the first floor laundry room (and did I mention the view?) everything was wonderful. We want to book a return trip next year.

My wife and I grew up in the Midwest. We've lived in Chicago, Cleveland and Southwest Michigan but our favorite place is the Traverse city area. We have three young children and love exploring all that northern Michigan has to offer as a family.

Why they chose this property

My wife and I fell in love in Traverse City. This house is the home we hope to retire to someday. We were blown away the first time we saw it and know you will be too. Spectacular views, crystal clear blue waters and an amazing living space make our home perfect for us.

What makes this property unique

There's not another home like it on historic M-22. Inside and out this home provides luxury and comfort, privacy and togetherness, sun and fun.... we absolutely love it. Our kids love the house both inside and out.... we believe you will too.
