About this property
Cozy Mountain Getaway with Scenic Views, Abundant Wildlife and Hot Tub
The Boise Chalet Mountain retreat is a short 35 minute drive from Boise but feels as if a world away. Feel your cares fade with the first whiff of fragrant pine as beautiful mountains come into view. A perfect romantic get-away or family gathering place.
Our mountain retreat is sure to be a cozy, comfy home away from home. The Chalet is set overlooking an idyllic small mountain home community.
The main living area is a typical chalet style with kitchen, living room and dining room all in one open space. Perfect for family gatherings.
Pour a cup of coffee In the morning and catch a glimpse of our resident grazing elk or take a seat on the front deck, glass of wine in hand, and watch the moon rise up over the mountains.
The kitchen is well supplied with all the equipment you need for whipping up a hearty breakfast, picnic lunch, or a gourmet dinner. Complete with the picnic basket if you so desire.

For the Kids
At the Chalet you will find children's dishes and utensils, an assortment of toys and books, and a Pack and Play that you are welcome to make use of during your stay. Our grandchildren are generous and don't mind sharing (we love spoiling them and your kids too).
Guest Access
The entire house is accessible with the exception of master bathroom closet, downstairs bedroom storage cabinets and the garage. A covered carport is available for guest use.
The Neighborhood
Nestled in a quiet little valley, meadow homes dot the area. The Chalet has a clear view of the surrounding mountains from the open living areas many windows, sitting on the front deck or while soaking in the hot tub. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of our valley or venture out to play, depending on the season with hiking, boating, fishing, hot springs, or winter sports all a relatively short drive away.
Getting Around
The Boise airport is 30 minutes away and serves most of the major airlines. Car rentals are conveniently available. A car is needed to get around and explore the area. 4 wheel drive and/or chains are necessary during the winter months. The nearest major grocery store is located in Boise, so be sure to stop and get groceries before heading up the mountain.
Other Things to Note:
*Fire pit usage is seasonal depending on local fire danger level; typically July through September is unavailable for use and those rules must be adhered to. Guests will be notified of such times.
*Maximum hot tub usage at one time is 5 people.
*Loft upstairs has been rearranged into an open sleeping area. It contains a full size futon bed with a thick hand tufted mattress for an extra comfy sleeping experience.
*Downstairs bedroom has full size sleep sofa, and bunk bed with full-size mattress on bottom bunk and twin mattress on top.
* Parking available for multiple vehicles and a snowmobile, trailer or boat. The parking area is more limited as we get snow in the winter.
* Pricing is listed for up to 4 guests. There will be a $25 per person per night charge for each guest after that.

Why they chose this property
Idaho is one of our country's best kept secrets. The area around Boise is rich in beauty, with quiet streams, beautiful mountains and abundant wildlife. There are places nearby to hike, fish, play in the water or play in the snow depending on the time of year. The scenic drives are amazing. The Sawtooth mountains soar nearby and are a wonderful day trip. Idaho City, an old mining town, has a wonderful hot springs to soak cares away.
At the Chalet I enjoy waking to the freshness of the mountain air and the sounds of Elk nibbling on the grass below my bedroom window in the spring and summer. I have also been known to take a glass of wine onto the deck to watch the moon come up over the mountains. The tranquility restores both body and spirit.
