We/guests love this place for: the Cellardoor winery just a short walk up the road; delicious dinner at the Youngtown Inn right across the street; excellent brunch/dining options in nearby Camden, Rockport, Rockland and Belfast, as well as local art walks and live music; the CMCA and Farnsworth art museums in Rockland; abundant hiking in "backyard" Camden Hills State Park and Fernald’s Neck preserve. If you have a way to bring bikes or kayaks, we highly recommend that! Many of our guests use our place as the perfect stop between Portland and Acadia National Park.

About the host
Hosted by Anna

I was born in California, grew up in The Netherlands, but spent a lot of time in Maine with my favorite grandmother and fell in love with the nature here. Living in Europe (and having a dad who traveled a lot for work and fun) I was lucky to do a lot of traveling, both in Europe and Asia. Fun fact: with an American mom and Dutch dad, I grew up speaking both English and Dutch, and learned 4 additional languages in high school (German, French, Latin and Greek). I studied Chinese in college for a year+ but haven't retained much... it was great to be fluent while traveling in China the following year though! I lived on Aruba for 2 years and still speak Papiamentu :) All this to say.... I identify with many places and cultures and LOVE hosting people from all around the world.
I once lived and worked as an artist, curator, travel writer and also owned a 5Rhythms Dance studio/meditation space in Leiden, NL. I now work as a psychotherapist and offer individual sessions and group workshops. I love hiking, dancing, anything creative/artistic, gardening, cooking, sailing, kayaking, swimming, biking, live music and yummy locally sourced foodie restaurants - and am happy to be a resource for you on all the above!
I live on the property with my husband Mike; we enjoy greeting guests and offering recommendations but otherwise keep to ourselves and let you enjoy your vacation on your own terms.
