We had a wonderful five nights at the Hope bunkhouse. The lake is so quiet and serene with hardly any motor boats, which we much appreciated. We loved swimming steps from the cottage, kayaking on the lake, making dinner on the grill, and just chilling on the dock, meditating, reading, and watching the hypnotic ripples. If you're a birder, you'll be richly rewarded in late summer by goldfinches, nuthatches, herons, cedar waxwings, and abundant hummingbirds! And there's so much natural beauty just a short drive away -- we hiked most days and also loved exploring Rockland and Rockport! The bunkhouse itself is beautiful appointed with a variety of vintage furnishings, a very comfortable (but soft) king-size bed, a great little kitchen, and a wonderful shower. Best of all, Laura is a very thoughtful and generous host who is nearby if you need anything, but gives you the space and privacy to feel like you're in your own little paradise. All in all, we had a fabulous, restorative stay, and are already looking forward to returning next summer!
