Heceta Haven: Your Coastal Retreat with Ocean Views
Step into the timeless charm of Heceta Haven, a coastal gem that began as a humble 1-room cabin in 1945. Over the years, it has grown and transformed into a spacious 1200-square-foot house, comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests. Here’s what makes it special:
Prime Location: Nestled at the end of a quiet, dead-end street in one of Heceta Beach’s original neighborhoods, Heceta Haven offers tranquility and privacy. It’s the last house on a dead end street, and a mere 2-minute walk down a wooded trail leads you to the beach.
Open-Beamed Ceilings and Views: As you enter through the front door, the dining room-kitchen welcomes you with open-beamed ceilings and a captivating view from the dining room table. The bar area is perfect for kids’ games or craft projects.
Well-Equipped Galley Kitchen: The galley kitchen features an apartment-sized electric range, dishwasher, and frost-free refrigerator. It’s thoughtfully stocked with everything you’ll need for memorable family gatherings.
Comfortable Sleeping Quarters: Off both sides of the main area, discover a cozy sitting room and two queen-sized bedrooms. The sitting rooms feature full-size fold-flat sofas for additional sleeping space. The master bedroom boasts its own bath with a shower-tub combo and a 32-inch Roku TV.
Spacious Family Room: At the back of the house, a large family room awaits. Enjoy a peek of the ocean view and step out onto the deck. With overstuffed chairs, a rocking chair, a sofa, and a glider rocker, there’s room for everyone. Gather for movie nights with the 40-inch TV and the provided collection or stream your favorites on Roku. An electric fireplace adds warmth and ambiance.
Heceta Haven has parking in front and in back so can accommodate small ATV & Boat Trailers. Enjoy the sound of the surf and watch blazing sunsets of orange & gold.

We had an excellent time during our stay in Florence. The place was big enough to let us spread out after long days at the beach. It was also very private, which I personally appreciated immensely and the walk to the beach was 2 minutes. I would recommend a better a coffee maker.
This is a great little house. Clean, cozy and close to the beach. There is lots of room to spread out in the house and lots of things to explore in the Florence area. We greatly enjoyed our stay.
My daughter and I flew from Phoenix (118 degrees) to Eugene and drove to Florence. Beautiful cabin with lots of pines, and the home was spotless! Not far to the ocean, but it can be a little rough if you’re handicapped (no scooters or wheelchairs) The bedsheets were amazing! Got a great sleep each night! Host was very helpful when we called to say we were leaving, since we forgot the code we came in with 😄
The home was well stocked and generally clean. It is super private, on a dead end road. The beach access is way better than expected. Literally a minute walk right off the front porch, to a great spot. The septic was overflowing in the yard after just two children had a short shower and I did dishes. One of the back sheds is unlocked and absolutely disgusting inside. My children are outside, feral farm children... they found it and stayed away. But it could be a potential safety risk to someone else. This place has TONS of potential and easily accommodates 8 people. Affordable. Needs some tlc though.

I’m very sorry that the septic issue impacted your stay. We work hard to keep the home in excellent condition, and we would have responded right away if we had known there was a problem—our contact number is provided so guests can reach us anytime something isn’t working properly.
The septic company diagnosed a pump failure, which prevented the system from moving waste to the drain field. They repaired it within an hour on the day you left, and the system has been running smoothly since.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We always want guests to feel comfortable and supported.
Easy beach access. Well stocked. Comfortable beds. We also used air mattresses and cots. We brought our extra bedding. Lots of towels. Nice washer and dryer.
My family and I spent four nights at this rental. It was well-designed and a great value- particularly considering its proximity to the beach. It was quiet, private, and perfect for a peaceful break from the real world. Lots of great features for a family with a dog. We'll probably return in future.
This is not the Ritz Carlton...it is a beach cabin with some rough edges. . At the same time, it is functional and clean and perfectly serviceable if you can live without pampering. We did not fix meals in the cabin, but simple meals would be possible. Wifi works well, tv has streaming options most of which mystified our group. If you pick this place, you will stay dry, sleep reasonably well, and not need a teatnus shop.
There were a few renovation projects unfinished, but everything in the main house was functional. There is a rotten old shack in the back yard and it's very creepy and gross. The door doesn't lock, so I peeked in, but I would never suggest that anyone set foot in there. Looks like it used to be a guest house.
Our family of 4 had a great time! We especially enjoyed the proximity to the beach. (Walk down a short trail and cross the street) The house is not the newest, but it was clean and had everything that we needed. There are a lot of fun options within a short driving distance to the house. (sand dunes, Haceta lighthouse, Sea Lion caves...) I would definitely recommend!
Close enough to town and easy to get to and from. The house had everything that we needed and we were close enough to get to and from activities that we were interested in doing.
The beach house was very clean, private, quiet, and spacious!

Actually it will be less than one star
I do "Not" recommend staying at the Heceta Haven. Home was Not clean!!! My daughter in-law woke up to a strangers earring stuck to her back (so gross and if that doesn't say; they didn't clean I don't know what does). Couch was sagging/ broke so we could not comfortably enjoy front room area. The screen was coming off of the screen door. Hole in carpet covered up by chair. Dirt and trash items (actual dirt, very old ear plug, bottle cap etc.) found beside furniture also showing place was not cleaned. There was a big WET stain on the carpet in master bedroom. Main bathroom smelled terrible and they have the audacity to charge a cleaning fee!! You only have a very small peekaboo view of the ocean from inside the house. They advertised a Babbling Brook so I was very excited for my grandson to have this to enjoy(he is unable to get to the beach so this was a very big deal. I wanted him to be able to have fun just like everyone else) but THERE IS NO BABBLING BROOK.. I informed management co. of all of these issues, she was aware of most of the problems. She is a very nice lady but only seem to offer excuses. What should have been a very special weekend for our family was definitely diminished by this home and management service.. I took pictures of above mentioned problems. Mrs Parsons

Great beach house!
Quick trip to Florence to play golf with a friend. This house was perfect for the two of us (with bedrooms at opposite ends of the house and two bathrooms) and could have handled two more guys on the fold down beds. Small but efficient kitchen. Very comfortable, homey feel and very quiet since it's at the end of a dead end street. 6 minutes to Sandpines Golf Course and about the same to Ocean Dunes. Perfect!

Lifes's a beach!
Nice house with room for 8 of us to spread out. The kids could play in one room and adults could visit in another or out on the deck with a view of the ocean. Easy beach access, close to town, well stocked! Last comment out the door "Can we come back again?".
