Not even 50 steps from the beach access, come and enjoy the best of the best of Carolina Beach at Dietrich Beach House, the epitome of a comfortable and luxurious family vacation home. Both the ocean and the Carolina Beach Marina are visible throughout the house. Spacious rooms, bright airy windows throughout, and corner views of the entire island will surround you. Every bedroom has ensuite access to a bathroom.  Cocoon yourself in plush beds, sea salt color schemes, and high quality furnishings. Six of the 8 sleeping rooms have ensuite balconies for viewing either sunset over the canal, or the Atlantic Ocean just steps from your door. Walk to your fishing charter at the Marina, eat at Stoked, Sea Witch, Brunches, and Island Burgers all within just a couple blocks. Level 2 features three queen suites plus a comfortable gaming area. Level 3 has a queen suite, two queen rooms sharing a jack-n-jill bath, and a primary king suite. A twin-over-full pyramid bunk room offers a fun spot for the little ones. This house has a reverse floor plan, with Level 4 opening to a great room with vaulted ceiling and a showstopping 6 x 11 foot granite kitchen island. Two outdoor showers continue the focus on family at 500 Canal Drive, the prettiest part of Carolina Beach. Less than a mile from The Boardwalk. ADA Beach Access is at our beach access, Scallop Lane.



Ground Level:

Enter with an electronic code to the elevator foyer. Once you have gained access, you can unlock the interior stairwell door for multiple unloading options. Both covered and uncovered parking options allow up to 14 vehicles, and, there are no restrictions on golf carts or boat trailers!

Queen Suite 2-Seaside Escape:  ensuite ocean view private balcony with exterior stairs to beach access and outdoor showers. Queen bed, smart TV, makeup station, desk/chair, walk-in closet with safe. Ensuite bath: tub and shower, swim suit clothesline, solid surface single sink, toilet.

Queen Suite 3-Scallop Suite: ensuite canal view private balcony, queen bed, smart TV, dressing mirror, desk/chair, clothing cubby, wall hooks. Ensuite bath: tub and shower, swim suite clothesline, solid surface single sink, toilet. In-room safe. 

Bonus Lounge: Marina view. Pub table and 2 stools, wet bar, coffee bar, happy hour games, microwave, futon sofa.

Ocean View Balcony: accessible to hallway or shared by queen suite

Jack-N-Jill Bath: custom tile walk-in shower with port hole side light, shaving step, rain head shower plus spray wand, double solid surface sink, linen closet with extra blankets and pillows.

Queen Suite 6-ensuite covered balcony with marina view, queen bed with double ottoman benches, two porthole windows with canal view, smart TV, closet.

Primary King Suite: ensuite covered balcony with marina view, king bed, ottoman bench, smart TV, ceiling fan. Ensuite bath: huge double walk-in custom tile shower with two shower heads, transom side light, double quartz top sink, water closet.

Kitchen: all granite and stainless steel appointments, ocean view and canal view from all windows. 6'x11' center work island with granite top, seating for 6. Fully equipped kitchen with small appliances and cookware for a crowd. Side by side refrigerator freezer, dishwasher, wall microwave and wall oven, Gas cooktop with range hood, oversize stainless kitchen sink with pull spray faucet.

Pantry: shelving for all the groceries needed for a few weeks at the beach.

Dining Area: canal view and ocean view! Gorgeous transitional glass top dining table seating 10. Dry bar with coffee station, bartenders tools, and wine fridge.

Marina View covered porch with sun deck: all weather rattan cushioned settee & chairs, cocktail table.  Pub Table vignette for 4, Bar window. Peek-a-boo ocean view.

Living Room: Canal view. 2 wing chairs, sofa, 4 soft side chairs, 75" smart TV.

Housekeeping Closet.



Linens - Beds will be made with clean sheets, bath towels will be lying on the end of the beds, bathmats provided in each bathroom, kitchen towel and dish sponge provided. (Guest will need to make any trundle, sofa beds, or top bunks.)  



Rental Policies:

In response to the increased incidence of credit card fraud, a valid government photo ID will be required for every reservation. A signed rental agreement is required: accepting House Rules on any online travel agency requires reading and acceptance of our rental agreement.



Things to bring:

Paper towels and toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, detergents, minimal cleaning supplies, and beach towels.



Arrival/Departure:

Summer Check-ins (June-August) begin at 4 pm and are guaranteed by 6 pm

Check-out is by 10 am. 

We adhere to this policy so please do not arrive early or plan to delay your departure.

No events such as weddings, bachelor/bachelorette parties, sororities/fraternities

Elevator Policies:

Please note, the elevator is for convenience only and does not guarantee ADA Compliance or Wheelchair accessibility. Although elevators are checked on a regular basis, Sea Coast Rentals/Owners will not be held accountable if the elevator is not operating or functioning properly during your stay. No refunds will be issued for these closures. 



Pet Policy: No pets allowed.



Cancellation Policy:

We want to make sure you’re aware of our cancellation policy. If you cancel when your arrival date is more than 60 days away, you will receive a full refund.  If you cancel when your arrival date is less than 60 days away, you will forfeit your deposit.

The Neighborhood:

Adventure awaits on Pleasure Island. Exploring the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, home to incredible coastal wildlife, or take the scenic car ferry across the Cape Fear River for a relaxing visit to the charming town of Southport where quaint streets are filled with unique antique shops and galleries. History lovers can walk the scenic, live‑oak‑lined trails of the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, where Civil War bunkers still stand. Nature enthusiasts will love the island’s two state‑managed coastal preserves: Carolina Beach State Park, home to rare Venus flytraps found naturally only in this region, and the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, known for pristine beaches, marshes, and wildlife viewing. Both offer beautiful opportunities for hiking, paddling, fishing, and spotting pelicans or even nesting loggerhead sea turtles.



After a day outdoors, unwind on your private balcony with a sunset cocktail, or head into town to explore the best of Carolina Beach. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk, ranked one of the Top 10 Boardwalks in the U.S. by Food & Wine, features classic seaside fun—local restaurants, an arcade, ice cream shops, bars, and the famous Britt’s Donuts. In summer, enjoy weekly fireworks and live entertainment, carnival rides, family nights, and Flamingo BINGO. Off‑season brings signature island events like the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival. Pleasure Island offers something unforgettable for every traveler—adventure, relaxation, and the perfect coastal escape.



Getting Around:

Getting around Pleasure Island is a breeze! While parking can be limited in peak season, especially in popular spots, paid private or public parking is available. We recommend exploring Carolina Beach and Kure Beach on foot or by bike – they're super walkable and bike-friendly. You'll find safe pedestrian and bike routes, including the Island Greenway. Renting a golf cart or bike is easy, too, with several local rental companies. Golf carts are one of the easiest ways to cruise around the island. Rentals are simple to arrange, and once you're behind the wheel, you can zip along any road posted 35 mph or under.
