Clean and comfy with easy access to the beach. I have a senior dog in heart failure who takes medication twice a day. Being able to bring him with me and not add stress was priceless.
This home was clean, comfortable, and just right for our family. It was such a beautiful area and the beach access is so close to the home. We really enjoyed taking walks, especially at sunrise.
The property was in a great location, my kids had a wonderful time on the beach. The property manager stayed in touch and made sure we had a great stay, and at the end of trip my son had left an iPod behind and she made sure we got it before we left town. We would definitely recommend staying here
The location was excellent! Wi-Fi was sketchy. One cabinet held WET rusty pans. Those should be trashed. Otherwise, the home was very comfortable for our crew.
Great for a family. Short walk to the beach. Very nice house, well equipped and pet friendly. We have stayed here 3 times and now will probably make it a 4th next year.

Spacious and comfortable
Great accommodations with a short walk to the beach. The house was spotless, and well stocked with towels, linens and extra blankets. The local grocery store and restaurant was only a few miles away. My family and 2 dogs stayed for a week over Christmas, and had a fantastic time! Definitely recommend for a family for an extended stay.

First time in Fort Morgan and booked on a whim. Loved the location and access to beach (quick and easy for kids) the house was very homey and perfect size. Spent most the time out on the beach. Loved that we didn’t have to pack beach toys or our wagon because they had those there, same with towels, rags, etc. We can’t wait to book again!

I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was disappointing from the start. The rental is extremely outdated — from the worn furniture to the old appliances that barely function. Cleanliness was also a major issue; we found dust, grime in the bathroom, and stains on the bedding that definitely should’ve been addressed before our arrival. There was also no reliable WiFi, which was frustrating since it was advertised as included. We couldn’t stream, work, or even reliably check messages during our stay.To make things worse, after we checked out, the host tried to blame us for items that were already worn or damaged when we arrived. It felt unfair and unprofessional.Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this rental. It needs serious updates, better cleaning, and more honest communication

This guest brought several dogs to my property without informing me, kept all these dogs locked up in one of the bedrooms. My husband just happened to hear these dogs barking while he was outside doing some yard work. After this guest checked out, the condition of the house was so bad, broken blinds from the dogs, urine stains, dry dog food all over the floors and what looked to be cat food also, and we don’t allow cats. This guest became very upset when she had to pay for all these damages and extra cleaning, so she left a bad review. Also, this guest never mentioned anything about the internet while she was there, we would have certainly taken care of this right away! Thank you for considering renting our property and not allowing the bad review to scare you away! It’s a nice house in a great location, only 100 yards walking distance to the beautiful beach! The house was everything we could have asked for. Guys trip with plan to go deep sea fishing, & the house was convenient to the marina & spacious enough for all 6 of us to be comfortable with plenty of room to spare. There was an issue that we needed to contact the owner about, & she was easy to contact & handled the issue promptly. Plan on staying here again.
So close to the beach and quiet neighborhood. House is huge with great kitchen and plenty of cooking utensils (first one I stayed at that had a cast iron skillet)
Owners frequently in neighborhood and available without being intrusive.
Beach was lovely and just steps away.
Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels.
Will be back!

We love Ft. Morgan!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Castaway II in Ft. Morgan, AL. The house was just the right size for 5 adults and 3 children. The short walk to the beach made the location perfect. Ft. Morgan is such a family friendly area. We were able to leave our beach set up in place for the entire week. The kitchen was great, as was the laundry room. We will definitely be back.

Thank you SO much for an awesome property that you allowed us to enjoy for the week!

Our stay at Castaway II was ok. We really enjoy this location in Fort Morgan as the streets dead end to the beach; it is a short walk, not crowded and no large high rise condos. The house was large and accommodating to the 5 adults and 2 teenagers. The house could be cleaner and needs updating. Upon our arrival we found the washer full of wet towels – hopeful that they were left by the cleaning crew earlier in the day. We understood the house to be pet friendly and that is why we booked so that we would have the option to bring our dogs (we did not), but the carpet in the primary was so stained and gross it took me 3 days to finally give in and walk on it barefoot. The check out instructions are super easy and they do not ask much of you, but that may also be why I felt the need to wash every kitchen item before use – we were thankful that we brought a lot of paper products and plastic utensils. The house is advertised to have an extra fridge/freezer in the lower level – it is physical there, but a brand new fully frozen bag of ice half way defrosted in the freezer rendering it completely useless. And the big kicker to this house – it DOES NOT HAVE ITS OWN WIFI. They tether the internet from a neighboring property. When we first brought this to the attention of the owners the second evening of our stay, they stated they have never had a problem in 20 years, no one mentions this as an issue and that we should just “go to the beach.” They did attempt to rectify the s

Beach Vacation
While we enjoyed our beach vacation, I felt the home lacked much! The kitchen cabinets are grimy, there were pans stored that were filthy with food, the filters in the home were hanging with dust, the stove light stays on constantly showing there is a burner on, there was milk dribbled down the side of the couch, you could see daylight around the doors while closed and locked, there were dead bugs in the tray on the dining table, absolute filth and disgust behind the bed where the plugs are to use for cell phone charger, the broom (without a proper handle) had hair balls built up on it and the furniture is outdated and uncomfortable. The home is spacious, however, needs updated and deep cleaned. The outdoor shower and parking area are nice. It is a very short distance to the beach but does not allow for sunset or beach views. The home would be an excellent choice if it were clean and updated. Has a nice deck but is not safe. The front rail was wobbly and in poor condition. Home has cable but only 1-2 decent channels, the others are all infomercial channels.
While we did not allow the poor condition of the home to ruin our vacation, it would have been nice not to have to wash all the dishes and bedding prior to use and clean the home before being able to relax.

Dear Keli,
I am sorry to learn from your review that you found the house in such a state of dis-repair, filth, insect infested, etc. etc. You probably do not recall or will not admit that when I called on two different occasions to check on you during your stay, you stated “everything is great”: further, my husband talked with you and your guests in person during your stay and always asked “if there was anything you need or anything that is not to your satisfaction- just let me know”- likewise, he was not informed of any problem, deficiency, or otherwise.
Perhaps your review was a “ pay back” or “retaliatory” for your failure to pay the fee for your two (2) pets when you booked?............. perhaps you were confused when you said everything was fine and meant to state the deficiencies stated in your review.
Whatever was the case, we appreciate you staying with us, regret that you were only able
To watch a couple of channels on Dish, as we do have several different channels and that you found that the sun set in the west each evening. I have no control over the sunsets!!
The property wasn’t the most clean when we arrived with sand in the bed and a needed sweeping of the kitchen area, and although some toiletries such as TP and dishwasher provided, there was only enough for a weekends stay. The surprising part about that was the cleaners showed up 10 minutes before our checkout. Overall, the unit was as described though and had anything you could need for the kitchen or grill and was so close to the beach you don’t even want to leave your street to go anywhere else while on vacation. The only thing I would change is for the property manager to go with new cleaners and have extra pillows on site otherwise it was a great little spot.

About the host
Hosted by Tina Scarborough.
We are native Alabamians. We live in Tallassee, Alabama. Joe and I enjoy actively participating in our Church, traveling with our friends, boat rides, fishing and shrimping, riding the ferry to Dauphin Island, bike rides in the Fort Morgan and Dauphin Island area, and enjoying the prettiest beach in the world- here in Ft. Morgan!
Why they chose this property
The Fort Morgan area reminds us of how Gulf Shores was forty (40) years ago- prior to the proliferation of condos. Ft. Morgan is a quiet, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the pristene white sandy beach, salt air, and ever-present Gulf breezes; a community of single-family homes; with great neighbors and friends.
What makes this property unique
Only a short walk (less than 100 yards-the length of a football field). Our street (Bernard Court East) actually dead ends onto the beach- there is no cutting through other property owner's yards, or walking down the beach front road east or west to access the 'public' areas. The Gulf ( and Bay views when leaves are off the trees in the Fall and Winter) can be enjoyed from the front deck. Since the house is located about a 1/4 mile away from Fort Morgan Marina, and approximately a mile from the Ft. Morgan historic site with public boat launch and fishing pier (to be remodeled in the coming year), there are a lot of fishing and boating activities available- we enjoy shrimping and fishing in Mobile Bay.
