The walk from the house to Lake Tahoe is 0.4 miles and 160 ft elevation change, about 7 min down and 9 min back up.
While we still think it’s absolutely worth exploring outside of Tahoe City with a car to drive to nice hikes and other activities, leaving the car at home and walking to town and the lake is so freeing, especially during summer parking shortages.
There is no A/C in the house, which is the norm around Tahoe.
Do as us locals do: For best airflow and cooling down around / after sunset we suggest keeping the fan on and cracking the windows that have screens for a cooling cross breeze.
We’ve found this keeps things comfortably cool for most stays.
Property: This rental is part of a property that includes a guest house. Each with its own separate driveway, entrance and outdoor space. Rest assured, there are no internal connections, ensuring your privacy and comfort.
Parking: Driveway: 2 spaces. Street Parking is available from May - October. No Street Parking from November - April (snow plows).
It snows in Tahoe from November through April. So you will want to be prepared with chains and / or 4 wheel drive. We get the driveway and streets professionally cleared during and after each storm but snow and ice may accumulate between plow runs. We have automatic snow melting mats for the walkway so you won't need to do any shoveling.

Send us a message for the local scoop on the best activities in Tahoe, I love to share our experiences. Here's a quick tip: the best Pizza ever is at Mountain Slice down the street from the house.
