This is a trailer and you are in a urban neighborhood so do not expect luxury accommodations (unless you’re used to sleeping in a car or tent, in which case you will sleep like a baby).
Notice in photos that the kitchen table folds down to create the second bed.
This camper is parked in the backyard of my home in a residential neighborhood. The entire camper (private) and backyard seating areas (one private, two shared) are yours to enjoy.
Guests can park on the street or pay a small fee ($10 per night) to park in my driveway. DO NOT PARK IN PRIVATE PARKING SPOTS YOU WILL BE TOWED. Access to the camper is through a locked gate in the alleyway.
There are multiple restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. Heads up there are no coffee shops to walk to. A coffee maker is provided in the camper and drip coffee is available at Bonanza Tacos y Mariscos which is a stone’s throw from the property.
There is a bike path nearby that runs through downtown Long Beach (about 4 miles) to bluff park (about 6 miles) and then to the beach (about 7 miles). Pro tips: make a reservation at one the Queen Mary restaurant to get onto the boat for free. There is a free yoga class on the bluff everyday at 11am. Rosie’s beach allows dogs (they are supposed to be on leash but generally aren’t).
Disclaimer: This is the lowest price housing within 25 miles of Los Angeles. Like everything in life you are getting what you pay for. There are certain conditions I do not have control over that you should be aware of:
1. It’s not called “vintage” just because it’s cute. It’s also old! Like all old things, that can come along with some dust and mustiness. No matter how much cleaning is done, this will still be the case. If you would not want to stay in a rustic cabin, I imagine you would also not want to stay here.
2. This is ideal for 1-2 people. It sleeps 4 adults but you would not want to do other activities in the camper with 4 adults due to its small size. For example, although there is a “kitchen” you would likely not want to attempt to prepare a meal with more than 2 adults inside.
3. My very nice neighbors occasionally host loud outdoor fiestas that can go as late as midnight.
4. Bugs happen. The camper has many nooks and crannies so you may encounter a spider or two. In the summer months I can almost guarantee some flies and ants but if food and beverages are put away they wont gather.
Major takeaway: This camper can be rough around the edges so expect a camping quality of life without the luxuries of most city accommodations.
