The building is on the vintage side, but the apartment has modern decor. It is tastefully decorated and makes for a very comfortable stay. The view out the living room window and the bedroom of Freedom Park is beautiful and an unexpected treat. Access to the metro is easy and takes about four minutes. Cozy Corner worked real well for taking in the many sites of DC. Toni was easy to work with and we would definitely stay there. Bob and Denise, CA

The condo itself was super cute inside and very clean. Everything was in great shape, and the photos were very accurate. However, the complex wasn’t as nice — the hallways had a strange smell, and the elevator was pretty rundown. The biggest downside was that the complex controls the heating and air, so it got quite hot the night we stayed. The host did leave a fan, which helped a bit. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable and the pillows were rock hard. Overall, the host was nice, but the place was not for us.

I really wanted to leave a positive review as I always strive to for hosts. However this stay was riddled with issues and the host was not empathic, refusing us even a partial refund. Firstly, it should be known the key for the property is not located at the property itself. The lock box was at the nearby Potbelly’s sandwich shop. Never had experienced that before at the 20 properties we have stayed at, but we were willing to roll with it. Upon being able to enter the home, we found the bathroom door was locked. We contacted the host and she was very responsive in getting a locksmith. However when we expressed our frustration of having to wait an hour for the locksmith and how it impacted our plans, her response was basically “well these things happen and it’s out of our control.” Then to top it off, we learned that guest parking was 30 a day at the complex. My sister and I each had a vehicle so parking ended up being 120 additional to the funds we already spent for the VRBO. I totally understand that things happen and always try to give grace—I know hosts have to deal with a lot and never want to be a “Karen.” However, it was disappointing to feel no empathy or compassion for how our experience was. As a gesture of care or good will, a partial refund would have been appreciated (wasn’t even asking for a full refund at any point). It’s a shame because the property is very cute and well maintained. I wish our stay here would have been more restful.
