About this property

AquaTemple Lodge & Waterfall Jungle Property

Imagine relaxing and swimming in a private river just steps from your home...the gorgeous river front property has multiple waterfalls, a secluded river beach and a lava tube/cave surrounded by lush jungle. Your group will have the whole property to yourself, with a house and a separate cabin so your group can have plenty of space to comfortably relax and unwind. It’s perfect for couples and friends traveling together, and families with children who love nature have really enjoyed being here.

The home (Aquatemple) has a well stock kitchen for cooking, and a large lanai to relax and gather. The cabin is overlooking the river beach, and is a favorite amongst guests. The home has one queen bed and two twins, the cabin has a full bed. The home has a full bathroom with outdoor shower. There another covered outdoor full bathroom right near the cabin as well. The entire property is off grid with water catchment and solar power. Water filtration devices are provided for drinking water.

The parking lot is easily accessible from the road, and then there is a beautiful 150 yard walk down a set of stairs and along a path which leads to the house, then there is another 100 yard walk along the river bed which leads to the cabin. This property has uneven terrain, thus is best for folks who are steady on their feet with basic level of fitness and balance. Due to the walk from the parking most guests keep luggage light, and there is another entrance to drop luggage off as well that is close to the home.

The owner is close by (but not on property) and available for support if needed, and we also offer additional spa, retreat and sailing adventure experiences for our guests during their stay if desired.

We look forward to welcoming to this little slice of paradise.

The first rental we high tailed out immediately. As we approached the main building we were shocked to see all the trash and old discarded items all over the property. It looked like a homeless encampment and a great place for a horror movie. Right next to the cabin there was a shack or tool shed not pictured on VRBO. The door was swinging like someone just ran out of it. As we approached I could see inside. There was a makeshift bed on the floor that looked freshly vacated. YIKES!We briefly went into the main rental. It was clean inside and looked pretty much as pictured. However, some windows had screens and some did not. There was a permanently open doorway going outside towards the occupied tool shed. It had a rickety screen on it and someone attempted to block it closed with an old cooler or something. Unfortunately, the river wasn’t flowing, there were no waterfalls and the water was stagnant and dirty. Not something anyone would want to jump into. (The day before we swam in a flowing river and swim hole elsewhere on the island.)We contacted the hosts who were kind and responsive. They refunded one of two nights but that is nothing compared to the total amount we paid with cleaning fee and fees. We asked for a full refund and the host stopped responding. We have been traveling and renting all over the world for over 40 years. This is the first time we bailed out. We felt that if we checked in we would never check out. It just didn’t feel safe.
